If Chris beats The Dragon and Gus edges out Jones in their rematch. Two pretty likely scenarios. A legend in the making.

He already is imo. He just needs to prove that to those who cant see his greatness.

I think if he destroys Machida and Jones loses, then he might have a case for being #1 P4P.
If he beats Machida in a more spectacular fashion than Jones did, that will be something.

I don't think however that Jones losing makes Weidman any more of a 'legend', for that he needs to get through at least a few more strong challengers.

Weidman has 2 weird wins over 1 great fighter. Settle down.

The fuck? Why was this wastelanded?

Weidman is already #1. He beat the shit out of the former P4P #1 twice at his own game. He is a wrestler who outstruck Anderson Silva twice. Come at him. If you beat the best, you are the best, period.

Wow wastelanded already?? We're talking about an historic rise to the top of a sport in a very short period of time. Its a legit discussion people.

Making Leon Spinks the true GOAT of boxing.

Lol, no. Aldo should be #1 if Jones would lose, he has nearly cleaned the division. Weidman has two wins against Anderson, which is a huge feat, but it doesnt mean that he would beat everyone in the division.

Weidman has 4 people between him and Jones.
