Im sick and tired of these "top 5" guys fighting eachother and not giving the chance to some up and comers to climb the way up.

Guys like Paulo Costa o Israel Adesanya should be getting opportunities.

Stupid to think Weidman could be still ranked top 5 if he loses again and be 1-4 in his last 5.

And wasnt Luke moving to LHW?

Champions are not the only ones holding divisions... "contenders" are pulling the same shit too.

Weirdman / rocksalt 2 is happening?

Do I ever not want to ever pay money to see the USADA version of Mr. Weidmans boy fight.
"Like, hey babe, let's switch over to Bar Rescue while these guys go to a decision."

Rockhold is not moving up to LHW after hearing that Romero moves up

There is some juice to this one with the bad blood off the first fight. Both are in similar places career wise. No problem with this fight even though the timing is kind of out of left field.

Your idea is why so many young talents end up evaporating. What's the point in rushing these kids when Costa showed he has obvious defensive holes in his game against Hall, and that Israel barely beat a pretty pathetic fighter before his fight against Tavares? Not to mention the fact that beating Tavares doesn't earn you a top 3-5 guy.

This is a rematch that has been in the works for awhile now, I think is quite warranted, and both Costa/Israel are not nearly as ready for either fighter as you might think.

No.

Winning a belt then hiding for a couple years refusing to defend it....is Number #1 Bullshit.

This was determined awhile ago.

Thread fail.

There will be some satisfying schadenfruede for the winner's fans. I'm rooting for Chris.

The Chris would destroy the hype around Paulo Costa real quick.

for some reason everybody on sherdog thinks prospects need to be thrown into the top 5 immediately

this is why fighter's careers get derailed. Prospects NEED to be given long win streaks not only to build star power but to build their skill sets as they gain experience.

remember how everyone thought gastelum would KO chris, and then when chris choked him out all of a sudden he was a fat 170er?

Luke can easily get either fighter on the ground and it's probably GG from there. I don't think there is any harm in building up these fighters slowly.

Luke honestly needs to just start pulling guard on people if he can't take them down.. I've never seen a middleweight with a ground game like him.

Listen- the state of today's middleweight division is in the state of like 10 years ago which is almost impossible being that it's the 185 division. I could see if it were 125 or 135.
- with that said, Luke and Chris are legitimate as top tier guys in division.

LMAO- Instead of making a 125 women's division and other trivial bullshit, elite fighters like Mousasi and Macdonald (who could move up to 185) were left to just walk out door.

yeah

doesn't make much sense

but will be interesting to see how it goes
i had rockhold via tko 4 and it happened
but the pace in a 3 round fight will be interesting

Exactly. Its to early for costa to go up against chris. Chris would expose him with his wrestling.
