We've learned that the gift of an IPad from your significant other means that they are breaking up with you.
A young lady that I've known [not in the biblical sense] for a few years sent me a fireHD10 today. She worked at a fast food place that I stop at and always wanted to give my dog something. Then she worked at the convenience store where I buy gas then the grocery store. Last year she started tending bar at a Sportsman club that I occasionally visit we had a couple of longer conversations when business was slow.
I saw her at my eye doctors office in December where she was the driver for one of her friends. I was looking at the magazines that were all several months old. She saw me and said I should just use a phone to read. I told her I got rid of my smartphone and it would be too small to read anyway. We talked for about 20 minutes. She suggested a Kindle if I didn't want a smart phone.
A few weeks ago a couple that had moved to Florida were in town and we stopped at the bar and she was working. It was a slow Sunday with a few people playing pool so she spent time talking to us. I was telling my friends that I do most of my shopping on Amazon. She asked me if I got a Kindle. When this young lady went to the other end of the bar to get the pool players drinks, my friend's wife says that the bartender has a crush on me. I thought she was kidding but she starts listing the signs. I thought it was ridiculous until this gift showed up today and she called to ask if she should stop in Sunday to help me set it up.
What should I be thinking? Is she just taking pity on an old man?
