We’re you guys really impressed by those ugly winging punches that landed on nothing?

The only thing that damaged Machida were those two knees. This was against a very hesitant and battleworn Machida. Anders had no footwork and horrible winging punches that KOd the air.

Machida needs to retire, he obviously doesn’t have it anymore. Guys like Anders were easy pickings back in Machida’s best years.

You're not wrong.

Vitor or Bisping next hopefully and then he should retire.

I said the same thing in another thread. Honestly I think his call out of Bisping is evidence that he knows he's past it as well. Might as well take a 'senior' fight or two before calling it a day, but he's long out of the title hunt.

Theres just no way a guy like anders stood a chance against a 29 yr old machida who beat rashad and shogun

Yea that is the only way I see it maybe ending well for Machida, but since the UFC has been giving him to the younger guys lately I would not be surprised if they gave him Kelvin next, but i hope not.

I wasn't impressed by Anders before this fight, so I didn't give a shit. Dude is stiff and two clips of some college football plays don't make him an amazing fighter.

Yes, just the same way I wasn't impressed with a guy backpedaling, running, and point fighting his way to a crooked hometown decision. At least Anders hurt Machida on multiple occasions. He didn't have Anders in any trouble at any point in the fight.

Even Tito and Sokoudjou had better boxing fundamentals and grappling than Eryk Anders. I’d take them against him.

Thiago Silva was also a beast. One of the better win streaks put on by any fighter really.

He would often faint with that left leg and I started getting shook up, thinking he was gonna pull that crazy crane kick out of the bag that he hit couture with. I would've loved to have seen a crane kick and see Machida go off into the sunset with a bang.

Anders’ leg looked worse than Machida’s face. Cuts happen, they patched it up and Machida looked fine.

The guy backpedaling threw more and landed more.

Kelvin?! Yeah Jesus Christ that would be terrible.

Wasnt impressed with Anders but also sure as shit wasnt impressed with Machida's terrified circling as infintium

I respect strategy and patience but hot damn he makes it annoying to watch sometimes

Were you more impressed with baby leg kicks and running?
That AND all the punches he landed in greater number to those of Anders.

Also, kind of impressed Machida didn't wilt. Machida is a great fighter.. but he doesn't have much in the grit department. Even though Anders wasn't landing much, there was total deer in the headlights looks on Machidas face.

Yup. Machida didn’t fight elusively, he fought scared. Makes it worse that Anders couldn’t beat him.

Just bleed.

Anders obviously respected Machida too much. Machida had more volume specially with kicks. Anders landed the harder shots and few takedowns.
It could´ve gone either way.
