what are ways to improve punching power? i know one way is to strengthen your core, shoulders and legs. should i be training on a heavier bag the bags at my gym are like 90 lbs, and my muay thai instructor told me training on a heavy bag makes you stronger. i feel that my punches are faster but my punching power is really weak. should i be lifting a little heavier or moderate? i've been lifting moderatly heavy.

You need a newborn which was concevied on a full moon. First you bathe it in holy water (but make sure you are not opening your mouth while doing so or your soul will get sucked out of it). Then you need to place it on an altar, cut out its eyes and finish it off with a dagger. Now you simply drink a bit of blood and bathe in the rest of it Siegfried style.
And just like that you will punch like Foreman....oh and steroids lots of steroids

Sorry but there is a thread like this every other day with people asking the same question instead of looking up old threads. but nobody wants the boring answer of making sure that you have some basic level of strength, maybe do a little plyometrics and first and foremost work on your technique, punching mechanics and learn to place your punches with lots of work and patience.
And obviously hope you are blessed genetically because turning a Malignaggi into a Golovkin you will not.

Just making sure you plant your feet properly and turn over your punch correctly. Lots of people like to jump around and hit the bag but planting your feet and rotating the hips and turning over your feet is super important.

1. stop making new threads
2. go to the gym

Do some plyometrics. Clapping pushups are a good starter. If you can't get five with good form and explosiveness then you need to build up your base limit strength first.
