Makes me think that Conor stands little chance vs. Frankie.

Conor won the stand up in the first round, but he wasn't dominant. Chad caught him with a number of solid punches, and really held his own with the boxing. Conor made up the difference and then some with the kicks to the body which were definitely his best weapon. But he also got taken down three times. Honestly, I can't see how you could score that round for Conor.

Boxing was about even and Chad got in decent work on top. T
+ three takedowns > ten body kicks.

Chad gassed in round two and Conor crushed him, but I think without a full camp, everyone expected something like that to happen.

The thing is, Frankie has much much better boxing than Mendes, is much faster, and has more effective takedowns. He does everything that Mendes does well-- only better. He also has a better reach (which was key for Conor in the Mendes fight).

As we know, Frankie won't gas, so what's to stop him from using Mendes' blueprint from round 1 vs. Conor?

Conor hits hard and Frankie's been clocked a few times early in his fights.

I consider Frankie a huge favorite but it's anything but a lock.

Also, Conor will win by not ever fighting him.

Another reason why it would've been a better fight for UFC 200--there's more ambiguity as to the result. I think Edgar beats Conor relatively easily, but can he take Conor's power? We already know that Diaz can and that Conor doesn't have anything else to beat him with. However, we don't know if Edgar can, and so I think, in that sense, Conor may have a better chance at beating Edgar.

There's every chance he does just that. Frankie is a dangerous fight for Conor

I think Frankie will be susceptible to shots coming in on the single, Chad got in on some fine body lock takedowns but the single to double isn't something to base a whole strategy on amongst the elite. In that fight I see Frankie getting cracked and then coming in for a single leg and getting pounded out at Conors feet.

I think this was the fight UFC wanted for 200, but Conor can't/won't make weight in time.

Mostly agreed but the most substantial difference I think is that Conor actually needed to worry about being hit by Mendes, whereas Frankie doesn't have that kind of power. Conor could be more likely to take a few shots to land one of his own, and Frankie's responded poorly to getting hit in the past.

Frankie, a huge favorite ?????
U can bet this fight in certain places (if fight comes to fruition)
McGregor-185
Edgar+155

Frankie cant hurt Conor
Conor can hurt Frankie

Frankie hasnt used his wrestling in God knows how long cause hes become this predominantly stand up fighter.

It's true that Frankie doesn't have Mendes type power, but he does have significant power (Mendes only has one more t/KO than Frankie) and much more speed.

I have to disagree that Frankie has RESPONDED POORLY to being hit in the past. Now he's taken some big shots in the past, to be sure. But it's that he's responded so well to those that has made for some of the best moments of his career (if you ask me).

Why can't Frankie hurt Conor? It's not like Conor has some crazy chin, and it's not like Frankie's never knocked anyone out.

Well, actually he had utterly grapplefucked Swanson in late 2014. Not that long ago.

I agree. Watch Edgar vs. Maynard II. Frankie got smashed, somersaulted, collected himself, and then fought to a draw. He should've won that fight IMO. Edgar vs. Maynard III, he got clocked hard again and came back to KO Maynard. Any fighter can be KO'd but Frankie hasn't yet. I think Edgar beats Conor and that Conor is avoiding him. Frankie would've beat Conor when Conor fought Mendes. Full camp Mendes would have won too.

Yeah, I would have loved to see Mendes get a full camp. I mean, think about it, Conor gets a rematch when HE LOSES AN OPPONENT WHO DIDNT HAVE A FULL CAMP.
But you think they'd be giving Mendes a rematch?
