Makes me think that Conor stands little chance vs. Frankie.
Conor won the stand up in the first round, but he wasn't dominant. Chad caught him with a number of solid punches, and really held his own with the boxing. Conor made up the difference and then some with the kicks to the body which were definitely his best weapon. But he also got taken down three times. Honestly, I can't see how you could score that round for Conor.
Boxing was about even and Chad got in decent work on top. T
+ three takedowns > ten body kicks.
Chad gassed in round two and Conor crushed him, but I think without a full camp, everyone expected something like that to happen.
The thing is, Frankie has much much better boxing than Mendes, is much faster, and has more effective takedowns. He does everything that Mendes does well-- only better. He also has a better reach (which was key for Conor in the Mendes fight).
As we know, Frankie won't gas, so what's to stop him from using Mendes' blueprint from round 1 vs. Conor?
