This new one may not be as good as the original but the locations and stunts are great. I saw the original in theaters and was pissing all over this new one but dayum. The surfing scenes and mountain climbing are freakin awesome. If you havnt seen it watch it because it kicks ass the story isnt the greatest but the action scenes are great. Just dont think of it as point break think of it as some action stunt movie. Both rogue wave scenes are kick ass they surfed in 70 foot freakin waves.

Haven't seen the movie since it looks like the story is garbage but I will give you that the surfing type of scenes look fantastic. But they better look good since the movie cost over a 100 million to make. The movie totall bombed at the box office only making 28 million domestically.

I can understand why it cost so much the scenes are awesome in beautiful locations I think they did one climbing scene at Eiger. I wasnt expecting much but dayum

They must not have done a very good job marketing it. Other than on here, in @Dragonlordxxxxx's threads I never heard anything about the movie. I can't recall seeing a trailer commercial on tv for it even once. In fact, I wasn't even aware it had been released already.

Big fail by them right there. No wonder they lost so much money.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm really looking forward to the 'Shawshank' remake..

I haven't seen the remake, but to me it comes off more as a XXX variant. A major reason Point Break is a minor classic isn't the "extreme" stunts, but the charisma of the cast, Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey. The remake just doesn't seem competitive on that front.

And yes, I think Keanu Reeves is highly charismatic, regardless of how many people say his acting is wooden. Just look at some of the movies he has made:

John Wick
A Scanner Darkly
Constantine
The Matrix
Speed
My Own Private Idaho
Bill & Ted
The Devil's Advocate (ok, nude Charlize Theron and scenery chewing Al Pacino probably helped this one)
Johnny Mnemonic
Point Break

I even liked 47 Ronin and Man of Tai Chi. He is amazing in movies that suit his talents (he was also awesome as the clueless young gentleman in Dangerous Liaisons, but that was really an ensemble piece).

I enjoyed it but I never saw the original

This entire post should have just been one sentence: "100% Pure Adrenaline".

This. I actually wanted to see the movie. I had no idea it released lol. No wonder it failed. I'll have to go see it though.

I heard the stunts and action were good, and that the story and characters were really inferior to the first.

It will be hard to match Keanu and Swayze at the top of their games, plus Gary Busey before he went crazy. The original Point Break captured something really cool at just the right time.

I guess I'll give this new one a chance...but it looked like the Robocop or Red Dawn remakes with even less effort put into the story.

Don't forget about that awesome part when a no-name heroin junkie blew his foot off! That scene was dope!

Thought the trailer looked like shit so I won't bother. I know it won't even come close to the original point break.

It bombed because movies that were awesome the first time shouldn't be remade. The public is sick of this shit and im happy it's finally catching on financially.

Road House is next though it's been put off constantly and hopefully, Will be cancelled.

Wherever it was it was huge and awesome how they made it look like a rogue wave just out in the middle of the ocean. The climbing scenes in south america were awesome too and the snow boarding it even had some mma in it. The stunt where they jump the bikes onto a mesa was worth watching the movie just for that.
