When Nature fights back?
The news reports made it sound like Doomsday or maybe the real Armageddon was about to happen. LOL

We're getting -45 degree this weekend in Quebec City.
tree will crack and fall down for sure.

Exploding tree is funny tho

My snowblower is still reeling from the back to back snowstorms we got in Quebec last year. We got bitchslapped twice by mother nature in like a 4 days span.

You guys should survive. Worst of big snowstroms is when there are strong winds and the power goes out. Be prudent and stay safe.

For these exploding trees, there are 72 virgin saplings waiting for them in tree heaven

Yeah. I live in MN. Have my whole life, in the Northern end too so even colder up there.

Trees don't really explode as the just crack and fall down. But sometimes they crack in a really bad spot so when they break they kinda do explode. Definitely sound luck a large caliber gun went off near by when it happens.

Seeing a tree explode would be awesome. We only have explosive addicts down here. Not nearly as cool.

Was going to make a thread, but I'm glad this is already up. Everyone PLEASE be careful! If you're in an area that might face a power loss? PLEASE stock up NOW!!! You don't want to be left with your @$$ hanging in the breeze when the ISH goes down.

We have a camp stove, and I can cook in the garage with the door up., and we've learned to stock up from 5 typhoons when we were on Okinawa. Also, check on your neighbors, especially older people. They may need help.

The hype for this storm is the biggest I can remember. Grocery stores selling out of food. Just hoping we don’t get downed power lines. <DCrying>

Stock up on flashlights, lighters, scented candles, lube.......
And call your neighbors if they feel too cold & lonely.

Everyone needs to survive this ice storm

His body is ready...

I'm too chicken to buy a lighter or matches because in school they said not to play with fire and I don't feel safe storing these, but a youtube vid said to heat up a file with torch before putting a wooden handle on it. Maybe I'll try magnifying glass under hot sun on the file.

Not long ago, after heavy rain then wind, a big tree fell on a dude's car and crushed it. Roots came out of the ground. I'm reluctant to go anywhere during strong wind where power pole might fall. One corner in the city had the trees removed after one fell on heavy traffic and smashed at least one car and could have crushed pedestrians. On one heavy traffic street, some coconut trees grew up super high and turned as if seeking out the sunlight and looks like an upside down L. Could be dangerous.

I had some Belvita I didn't get around to eating and was going to eat one and it tasted nasty like it went bad. I had an old Nutrigrain and still ok.

All lighters have a child resistant safety feature.
A lighter can't ignite without a spark, then requires flammable gas or liquid close to the spark.
