He looked a little chubby and then his strategy of running at Stipe throwing wildly makes me think he wanted to end the fight quickly. These seem to be possible clues that he may have been injured and was not ready to go 5 rounds.

Yes.

Staph.
Jetlag.
Torn bicep.
Thin hand wraps.
Bad judges.
Robbed.

I was thinking maybe he never made a full recovery from the injury that he originally pulled out for

He wasn't injured, just came in with a lot of flab around his belly and his ego in the wrong place.

Looks more like he was too full of himself and his troll antics to train properly.

I don't think so I think he was just eager to have a stand out performance in front of Brazil and made a dire mistake rushing. Much like aldo wanted to make a statement against Conor.

My first thought was that he wanted to put on a show for the Brazilian crowd.

He did look pretty flabby compared to recent fights but no excuses for that. He fought stupid and paid the price. I almost feel like he got too caught up in his own hype/resurgence.

His body looked similar to the JDS fight where he was put to sleep, as well.

When he fought jds he was like 260 or so. Way out of shape.

He came in at 241 against stipe. Just ate a big punch trying to box a boxer.

Same thing happen to Cain. Cain came in fat and ring rusted, but haters did not want to admit it when werdum beat him.
