Aliens v predators had a decent setting/story/idea but it was PG13 and a terrible script.
AvP:R was rated R but the story was terrible and a lot of gore without substance.
Predators was decent and more reminiscent for the first film, but that too had a lot of problems. And adrian brody as a hardened marine wasn't the best casting choice.

Well said, but I thought Adrian Brody did a terrific job in that one. Predators is tied in second best predator film next to Predator 2. The first is the best of course.

you're right. he did play the role very well, but still an odd choice.

i think predator 2 > predators because the setting and the events leading to the climax were a lot more original/exciting.

Predators is ok. Fishburne saved it.

The only thing I hated about the fishburn casting was how out of shape he was for it. He was supposed to have been stranded for multiple seasons (years) there scrapping, scrounging hiding and surviving. He shoulda been skinny as shit.. but I love fishburn as an actor and was willing to ignore that “Apocalypse Now” mistake..

I think its the same issue I mentioned before, Predator 2 was moving a bit more towards the cheesey but still generally had a lot of ambition as a mainstream movie. Predators felt like a bit of a geek sideshow the same as the AvP films, playing to a smaller audience with less ambition.

Predator 2 also benefits from being a greatest hits of late 80's action cinema, ontop of the Predator himself you have actors essentially redoing their performances from Lethal Weapon, Aliens, Running Man and Diehard.
