I think Conor might of intentionally rushed the bus with his crew to draw attention to himself and drum up ridiculous attention for a potential fight with GSP, which the UFC always wanted...
This stupid stunt just raised his profile and all publicity is good publicity, unless you murder or rape someone.
Yes Conor is being charged with assault etc...
Yes Conor can be sued and some people are saying they will...
But I feel Conor's legal team will simply argue that people injured by the bus thrashing was unintentional, and intent does matter, legally speaking. You can really injure someone badly, but as long as you didn't intentionally target an individual, prosecution of such crimes are hard to press, even worse, I can picture the fighters not pressing charges (nobody likes drawn out legal battles) in exchange for modest cash settlements.
Dana will spin the event later and will simply say "Conor did something stupid and emotional which we as a company vehemently oppose, but at the end of the day, he was really bothered that a member of his team was basically surrounded by and assaulted (slapped) by Khabib's entourage and that caused him to go on a tear, Conor's got that loyalty in him. Now it appears that George St. Pierre, the nicest guy in the world wants to teach him a lesson in civility and we're not going to stand in the way of that. If George wants to teach Conor a lesson, the octagon is the best and safest place for that."
I don't think the UFC will ever put Conor in the octagon with anybody but GSP first and foremost because it is the biggest fight. If Conor loses, he won't lose marketability in the same way had he fought someone his size, so, fights against Khabib or anyone else can still be made after their biggest money fight, which would be against GSP.
This is just my Edgy Bravo conspiracy theory.
