Was Pride 2 the Worst MMA Event of All Time?

It was definitely one of weaker earlier Pride cards, even then I enjoyed the Ruas vs Goodridge fight even if it did end in injury, also Sakuraba and White had lots of transitions so not bad.

I remember the kickboxing matches saved this card for me anyways, Bas called Roosmalen a wolf in sheeps clothing and poor Ralph White in both Pride appearances he got matched up with killers.

Worst mma events were UFC 9 and the first ultimate ultimate seems to drag on there weren't many big shocking moments.

From a viewing perspective, it obviously has not aged well, but consider:

-A lot of those names were very big at the time and for the burgeoning development of MMA
-A lot of the fights were important for said evolution

I'd say for MMA as a whole (certainly in Japan, and to lesser degree in Brazil and the US) it was a more important card than some recent UFC cards, even if the latter are more entertaining.

PRIDE 1 had one fight that was worse than anything on this card.

Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock would like a word over here....UFC 9 also gave us a Pancrase ruleset for the evening!

Pride 2 was atrocious. Most of the early ones were rough as others have noted.

With the way Dana was acting post fight press conference youd think that Belal vs Leon card was worst ever.
It was okay.

A lot of early events sucked up until the 2000gp and Pride didn't really put it together until "Return of the warriors".
