While people tend to speak fondly of Royce Gracie's legendary 90 minute fight against Sakuraba, people tend to gloss over the fact that it wasn't the only titanic-length fight in Pride's history.

Notably, at Pride 2, Renzo Gracie fought Sanae Kikuta for over 75 minutes, in what was unquestionably one of the worst fights of all time -- especially when one considers how long it was.

It wasn't the only horrendous fight on the card. Royler Gracie also fought Yuhi Sano for over 30 minutes in a fight in which barely any strikes were thrown.

Is Pride 2 the worst MMA event of all time?

I don't know but I was at UFC 149 and it was beyond terrible. The amount of people that left during the main card was staggering.

Also, alot of regional shows sucks.

Oh wow blast from the past i remember that card. Dude doing the splits after Koing some guy on the under card was the only note worthy thing to happen. I loved cheik Kongo, but man could he stink up a card lol

Edit: Ryan Jimmo(RIP)! Couldn't remember his name, that was epic. Had to look up that fight card, yeah Hector Lombard vs tim boetsch is just a ridiculous co main event like what the hell.

the first few pride cards are almost unwatchable except for a few fights

some terrible fights throughout mma, fat Tank vs fat Ferroza comes to mind, Rose laid a huge stinker recently. I can think of a lot of crap fights. Remembering which overall card was the worst is difficult.

Was Royler vs Sano the fight where Royler sat in mount for 95% of the fight doing nothing and Bas got so bored he started doing scarface impressions. If so, yes. worst ppv ever.

PRIDE 2 was the first PRIDE event I had read about (I think it was in Black Belt magazine.)

The names involved got me wanting to find a way to watch these events.

Luckily I found a Japanese video store that had bootleg tapes a few months later.
