First of all, dude is a beast. Holy shit, his GNP, pressure and transitions are on another level. I legit thought he'd had some trouble against Edson but he walked through him. Hopefully he stays healthy and fights 3 times next year like he wants to.
Do you think his chin was tested? Edson hit him some brutal leg kicks early on but that kick he threw later on, I think it landed pretty well and Khabib walked through and never flinched. Dunno if the flying knee at the end landed. Would appreciate some gifs.
Do you think his chin was connected and Edson really connected. A lot of people were doubting his chin after the MJ fight but I think the kick Edson hit him with would have knocked most people out, Khabib has a chin on him for sure.

I was pretty worried Edson was gonna go balls to the wall in the last 10 seconds but Khabib stayed in his face. Tough loss for Edson. The guy's tougher than he gets credit for imo

He has a solid chin and the only reason ppl doubt that is courtsey Joe Rogan and his awful commentary. He wasn't hurt in the MJ fight at all and ate edsons wheel kick. His chin is granite.

Edson has a good chin too. Lol, the punches he took when he was against the cage were brutal. Dude is a warrior.

Agreed. Never thought he was hurt, more of a balance thing, imo.

Absolutely. I thought no chance he was gonna survive round 2. I do think the guy should take a little lay off after that beating though.

Hopefully. That kind of beatings changes careers if you're not careful. Dude had no idea what his corner was saying to him.

Best description of the fight I read on here was, it was like a man put in a cage with an animal.

A lot happened with that kick that I did notice until my most recent rewatch.

So first of all, it clearly did not land as intended. It connected with the ankle it seems. However, Edson has dropped and wobbled people with that same kick even when it does not land clean. So the fact that Khabib gave zero fucks is super impressive.

The next thing that was subtle because it all happened so fast was that Khabib saw the kick coming. He starts to lift his hand but is too slow but does well in moving with the kick. This is part of why he was able to keep his footing and immediately walk Edson down again. That was a great test for his reflexes.

And finally, the last big shot he got caught with was Edson's lead hook, which he also seemed unfazed by despite Edson throwing it like a Hail Mary.

It was a good show by Khabib all around. He's a tough S.O.B.

He fought tons of bartenders in Russia so his record is overrated as fuck.
Only two legit wins are over Edson and RDA

said it before this fight, and will say it until he gets an opportunity to prove it, but he is the best LW on the planet.

There is nobody at LW that should ever be a betting favorite over him. Not saying he can't lose, everyone can. It's MMA, guys throw punches to KO each other, hell, sometimes the ones that aren't intended to, do, but, there is nobody in the weight class currently that stands much of a chance.

You aren't going to outgrapple him over the course of a fight. A guy like Tony, he's got some ridiculously slick and fast chokes that people don't know how to train for yet because not that many guys are that good at what Tony does. But he's not going to out-wrestle Khabib. He's not going to win many of the grappling exchanges (all he needs to win is 1 though). Same with strikers, guys like Conor or Edson, Alvarez/Gaethje/RagingAl), you have the glimmer of hope that you can KO him. But he is very good defensively. He doesn't get hit clean very often. And if (and usually when) you miss that split second to take advantage of your striking, he will get a hold of you. And then what happened last night, happens.

scary stuff man. A few more wins like this and he will definitely have to be regarded as perhaps the best fighter in the sport or talked about as one of the best. Nobody is embarassing top level guys the way he has with MJ and Edson.

Agreed. I also think that... say if he gets knocked down... who would follow him to the ground? I mean, haven't seen much of his bottom game but the dude would simply overpower and exert the same pressure once he gets his senses back. Dan Hardy once broke down how he reversed someone when he was on his back, it was pretty slick and then the mauling started.
His cardio and relentless chain grappling makes him a favorite over anyone in the division.

being a world champion Sambo player, I would assume his ground game even from bottom is fine. He's probably not Marcelo Garcia off his back or anything, but, I'm sure he's more than capable of holding his own vs anyone in the LW division. Nobody else really has that great of a top game besides Lee (who realistically might be his toughest matchup, guy with power in his punches, good wrestling, good BJJ)

He's 9-0 in the UFC, broski.

Time to wake up, its Khabib time!

I'll tell you what

One of those spin hook kick things landed flush and he didn't flinch, I think his chins intact
Which is surprising considering he trains at AKA
