Was kevin lee hype ever justified?

He's good but he can't dig deep. If he can't steamroll you or dominate you every round then he finds a way to lose. He is athletic, has good flexibility and is strong. He should be perfect for MMA.

Vegas is a hotbed for fighting but no one of note came out of Vegas recently. Maybe there is too much partying or something. I think he switched to Tristar but it is the same thing. They don't have anyone coming out of there. He needs training partners and better coaching.

I never thought the guy was anything special. same with barboza. barboza has horrible boxing.

Please, no unfunny erick silva jokes.

I first noticed lee when he was mistakenly talking shit about chiesias mother (he wasnt) then went on to get an early stoppage.

Still, i dont think im ever bored in his fights, so im ok with him.

yes he was as strong lw with all the tools but could never get his head together also bad cardio

Yeah maybe 5-6 years ago. But he's physically declined to the point where his game plan is a lot harder to get off.....at just 28 years old. If he can string together 3-4 wins against some top 20 guys then the hype train can ride again. Until then, it's undeserved.

He was a really strong guy with great wrestling. I think dropping a bit of muscle mass would've helped him make weight and improve his cardio, and he would've still been able to bully most LWs with his size and style. But he's in that unfortunate "been a prospect for years" category now.

Say what? I bet you fantasize about can Cooper sodomizing you….eh cupcake?

Simp.
You’re goddamn right. I know from experience. So that way I know you stand no chance.. you’ll lay down and take it, ya weak kneed sissy boy.

So you took it from behind by him and enjoyed it?

That’s how you derive I would take it?

Very suspect.

Ever seen Gary Goodrich vs Dewey the clown?

LMFAO.

He has dominant wins over Chiesa, Barboza, and Gillespie.

Rodriguez is a good fighter and Lee isnt as strong at 170

I think he's just another one of those fighters stuck between weight classes. He'd benefit greatly at 165.

Depends who you ask. Kevin Lee would think he is but he hasn't done much since losing to Iaquinta(2018) and while that KO over Gregor was amazing, he hasn't really changed all that much and I would argue that he's actually gotten worst since joining Tristar.

He's still a talented fighter who has fought the top at 155. He's still young and can have a resurgence but something has to give, he has to leave the UFC or make a switch to a different gym... and 170lbs will just increase his demise further.

Not a world beater, not a can, but a stiff test for anyone looking to move into the top 10 because he currently is not a top 10 fighter in either division.

Ya, but this can be said about other fighters as well. There would be a flood of talent from both 155 and 170lbs that would easily push him out, he should move back to 155lbs because that's where he will find his success in the UFC.

He has a very good wrestling, and seemed strong, explosive, and charismatic. Beating Chiesa, Barboza, Gillespie and Escudero is no joke. He also gave RDA a hell of a fight.

He is very good, but has terrible conditioning, is too stiff, and his ego gets in the way.

No one said he hasnt beaten some good fighters. Mustafaev, Trinaldo and Matthews are good wins too but many swore he was future champ material when he never had close to that talent

Sure, but his issues are almost always having problems with a weight cut or being too small for welterweight. He's not some talentless bum who doesn't have any discernible skill. He's good. He just needs to figure out how to deal with southpaws and get his weight handled.
