I could at least see the argument if either of those two had to pull out for it to be worse. DC handled Jones pulling out like a boss since he'll still fight Silva. I'm not sure Jones would've done the same thing. Also, with Brock you'd lose at least some crossover buys, which hurts UFC's bottom line.

Brock pulling out would have been worst for PPV number.

But it would have been better fight. People think cuz Moose lost to some juicers that he is a mediocre fighter. I guarantee he beats Bisping at this point, and strangely, Bisping and Moose may be the best clean MW's on the planet. Gegard is an absolute savage and could def scrap with DC.

In no way am I suggesting that this is the better or more logical fight, rankings-wise. Under these circumstances, they had to put together a superfight. Moose wouldn't solve the PPV buy problem. Silva will draw in a good number of those who would have been lost had they scrapped the fight completely.
