Was Chucks boxing considered good

So world champion level?

Yes. It’s the UFC. Griffin vs Bonnar is considered a great fight here.

lol nobody was praising his boxing on Sherdog during his run, and people only said he had crazy power in looping punches that would get countered by a good boxer. His power was considered good, but his boxing wasn't.

Not in the traditional sense, but for his time in mma it was plenty good enough.

Of course his hands were but overall boxing, I remember Dana saying he had the best boxing in mma at the time until Rampage came along
No. But people didn't really ever discuss how poor his defense was for success and his longevity.

Chuck fought like an orangutan in the Octagon. No telling what his boxing looked like durig training. His style was effective, though, at least for a while.

He had a great look and good sprawl plus ko power in an era where wrestlers didn't have good stand up. He definitely changed the game but not the most technical boxer in the classic sense.

Was a badass no doubt.

No. His boxing was not considered to be good. He was often ridiculed for keeping his hands low.

He was a great puncher, bad boxer.

I think its fair to say MMA boxing is different than traditional boxing. I mean the same techniques work, but shit is stringed together differently in MMA

Boxing? No.
Kempo Karate? Yes.
Well he kind of had a karate stance and hand position, but the way he threw his shots didn't look very orthodox to karate (as say compared to Machida or Wonderboy)

Regardless of whether it was good, it was certainly effective. Until his chin and reflexes started to go, anyway.

Machida = Shotokan
Wonderboy = Tetsushin-ryu Kempo & American kickboxing
Chuck = Koei-Kan Karate & Hawaiian Kempo

They all look different. That's the main misconception on these threads regarding Karate. I have listed 145 fighters who hold legit Karate blackbelts. I get shit from ppl all the time because "they don't look like Machida". Well DUH, they practiced different styles of Karate which DON'T look like the one Machida practiced.

Here's a decent breakdown of competition rules which exist in various Karate styles. Note that they are all different, look different and produce different looking fighters:

I hope you find this information enlightening.

Cheers. I practice Shotokai myself so the only person who looks very familiar is Machida. Wonderboy is recognizable. Chuck to me is bizarre haha.
