Anthony Johnson was a staple of the MMA scene for many years. His death is shocking to so many.

Rumble started fighting at 170 and seems to have ungodly power. Is he the hardest hitting 170 lbs fighter??

I can't think of any other 170lbs fighters that hit harder maybe Woodley.

RIP Rumble.

At 185 he may be the hardest hitter, maybe Hendo/Alex/Costa may hit harder or similar. At 205 and bulked up Rumble was still one of the heaviest punchers.

In terms of power I would say.

1) Woodley
2) Rumble
3) Lawler
4) Kaos

No way in a million years, McGregor struggled at 170 against nate. Rumble would stop nate easily at 170.

Going with no, he didn't really do much as far as KO'ing people at WW. I mean he beat a couple of people at the very beginning of his career at WW, but then went up in weight, and lost a few too. I never considered him that big of a power punching guy until he went up in weight and put on mass.

Yes I grew up watching him at 170. He was a phenom, the fact he retained his power all the way to HW was insane. The way he finished GUS was fascinating.

hes the definition of a glass cannon but his power was insane and easily his best attribute. He's probably a top 3 pure athlete to ever compete in MMA WW too. Just a complete freak physical specimen

- One shot KOd Pele so badly seconds into the fight that he started vomiting
- Dropped and nearly KOd Condit if not for a clutch knee to the body that stifled followup, hurt him multiple times and more than anyone ever with Carlos arguably having the GOAT chin @ WW, arguably the only guy to 10-8 Carlos and easily came closest to finishing adamantium chin Carlos
- KOd Shields unconscious and had him wrestling with the ref (same Shields a couple fights ago who took 2 H Bombs to the dome and was dropped, yet came back to 10-8 Hendo and dominate the rest of the fight) and that was the only time Shields was ever finished in his prime despite fighting dudes like Hendo, Daley, Lawler, Condit, Kampmann, Woodley, Lombard etc
- KOd Marquardt dead
- dropped and nearly KOd Kampmann on the 1st exchange
- dropped Wonderboy and made him go stiff for a moment
- hurt Tarec multiple times badly where his movement completely froze
- hurt Kelvin in the 1st minute
- KOd Piearson and Pyle
- had a choke so deep on Kos he was spurting froth
- 1st guy to finish Brown with strikes, dropped him twice in 1:40 of fight time and is the only guy whos dropped him with a punch to the chin (others have been to his glass body). And the punch was literally on the 1st exchange like Kampmann fight
