Warhammer 40k

Yep, I'm a massive Black Library book nerd.

Read most of them up to the Master of Mankind.
I rather enjoyed Master of Mankind. I've both read it and listened to the audiobook. They do rather well with their audiobooks.

I'm enjoying the Dark Imperium line now. Soooooooooooo glad they finally moved the 40k timeline along. I mean freaking Dorn is back. Now they need to bring back one of the other loyalist Primarchs. Would be very interesting if it was El'Johnson as there was certainly dynamic tension there between them and their approaches to leadership.

New stuff from the UK Games Expo [LINK]. The new Necromunda models looking really good:

PS: should I even bother posting this stuff anymore? Nobody else is replying or commenting on stuff and it feels like I'm wasting my time crossposting this info here.
Me too dude, keep posting away.

I didn't think I'd ever see the day they moved things along.

I first got into 40k when I was 11 years old back in 1998 so it's been a long wait!

I'm glad they brought back Dorn I guess the other possibilities are The Lion, Russ, Khan, Corax, Guilliman and Vulkan.

It only seems to be Sanguinius and Ferris Manus gone for good.

i could see Sanguinius being a phoenix like hero comes back from the dead curing the thirst honing into hate for the great enemy.

Happened to browse Forge World's webshop earlier tonight.

Besides the imperial knight series of miniatures (the cerastus knight lancer in particular) this is probably my favourite 40k miniature* to come out in the last 10 years:

Everything about it is just so goddamn sexy. Including the pre-heresy Death Guard paint scheme, which is awesome if you get the nuances right (Horrible if you get it even slightly wrong. I've tried once myself, and it came out looking like a Green Bay Packers jersey).

Anyone else who wants to nominate their own personal favourite over the last decade, feel free to do so. Help keep the thread going.

*Though I'll probably think of another one five minutes from now.

For plastics, I've got to go with the new Lord of Change. I wish I had a hundred bucks to drop on a model I'd never use because this thing is damn near perfect:

As far as full lines go I think they really nailed it with Skitarii. The Dunecrawler, Sydonian Dragoon, Ruststalkers, Skitarii Rangers/Vanguard, and Tech-Priest are all super thematic kits that are both unique and perfectly 40k.

Oh, and a special shout-out to the Tartaros Terminator kit. It's really well designed: goes together easily with minimal fuss and has lots of options for both CC and ranged models. It's not fancy but it's a damn good kit.

I really liked the Sydonian Dragoon. Mostly for the hilariously absurd (but striking) Southpark Monocycle concept.
The rest of the (non Forge World-sold) Adeptus Mechanicus miniatures didn't really stand out to me. Though they meshed well as an army and as a tabletop representation of the AdMech, and I liked them overall.

Oh god, they're coming out with WH40k themed MONOPOLY. Why?!?! [LINK]

Awesome loads of new codexes and books and games...grwat time to be 40k fan
Love the reddit 40k lore site too...someone posted a clip of recent book where logar and corax have rematch and it was fucking awesome
Some worldbearers are getting raped by unseen blurry shadow on chaos planet and beg their leader to try and summon logar to save em , their leader says their lives arent worth logars time and they should accept death
Logar actualy appears like gandalf the white and his minions beg to be saved from the 'demon' , logar smiles and asks his brother to come on out .
Corax appears and is all masked in shadow and has actual wings now , logar asks has he finaly accepted that hes of the warp and he says he has
Logar asks him then to accept the chaos gods and corax tells him basicaly to go fuck himself
Logar goes for his mace and says he isnt the same guy from istavan.....corax replies neither is he
No descrpition of fight but guy who posted it says corax again spanks

So horus hersey to be finished soon
We know the long awaited horus vs sang then emps fights will be described but also new info that
-long hyped grude match of khan vs fulgrim happens , plus khan vs motarion rematch
-we know sangiunius may have the most badass solo holding the line moment but now vulkan may be on terra too!

Really hope they do justice to this epic series ending.....hoping we see sigismund beat down some fools .....kharn the betrayer vs siggy MUST happen !!!

Question: I read a series of books from the War Hammer universe, but it was set far in the past. There was a warrior and dwarf and they just went around wrecking monsters and such. I think a bad guy was named Nurgle. Is that related to this?

That is from the Fantasy flavored version of Warhammer (specifically the Old World version, which was destroyed in a pseudo-reboot a few years ago). The book you read would have been part of the Gotrek and Felix series.

There are a number of themes and characters that cross over between Fantasy and 40k, the chaos gods being one of the most notable. Nurgle is the chaos god of disease and decay.

Cool they also plan to cover the scouring
Really wish theyd tell us of the 2 missing legions and the raghadan (spelling) xenocides
The logic for withholding lore on the missing 2 is so guys can make custom chapters that dont fit any legion but weve seen chapters with odd genetic mutations or homeworld quirks that make them become unrecognisable to their root legion so that need is fulfilled

And unification wars and bit of the dark ages.

Yep. That’s the series. So if I were to pick up the 40K series, I could just ignore the old stuff?
