torrents - at least that's what it sounds like. his ISP caught on.

Why would they care about that compared to just finding it online? Is it because it's being downloaded?

yep. when you use, let's say uTorrent - there are agencies that track what's being downloaded. these agencies sell this information etc. you can see how this goes up the chain from copyrighted material all the way to ISPs etc.

there were several threads in the Mayberry years ago about people getting busted for d/ling porn. their ISPs would send them mail saying they themselves received mail from XXX, linking their personal information etc.

Holy shit. I'm glad I got away from downloading years ago. Use to have limewire and all those other ones to download mp3s. Never got into downloading shows or movies because our internet was very slow back then. After college, I pretty much always though the general route of watching a show outside of hulu/netflix was what you mentioned (watchseries, use to do ch131, etc). It's amazing that distinct makes a difference. I hardly have to use those sites now cause I watch less and more networks have wised up in making their own online subsciptions. I pretty much watch everything through Netflix, HBO NOW, or CBS All Access now. I don't have cable anymore.

I don't get it. Is there something clever I'm not seeing, or is it just funny that people always reply seriously no matter what he says? I liked some of the ridiculous email troll jobs from back in the day though.
he's an unsung genius

haha same here, I'm on year one of "cutting the cord" now myself. I was paying Time Warner about $150 a month when I hardly watch TV as it is. now I just D/L shit to watch during my commute or use Netflix.

anyways, if you're bored - a fun program to install is "Peer Blocker". just have it running in the background as you browse the internet & you'll see an abundance of sites trying to sniff out your info per click. you'll even get strange ones browsing the ol 'dog too (University of Zimbabwe etc.).

people always joke about "wearing an e-condom" when browsing the net. that's what these programs/options basically are (VPNs etc.).

Yea, I heard a VPN is going to eventually be a norm in the future the way things are going.

I cut the cord maybe a year ago and people of how simply my usage is (forum pretty much), I'm considering cutting my internet for a couple months to get the cheaper rate with a new contract. I pay $100 now and I just feel like that BS for internet service. I can download a show at work if I really want to and watch later. I don't really need to be paying $100 a month for sherdog when I have a decent data plan with my phone and hotspots are cheap as well.

fwark man. just consider sticking around dude. TWR doesn't have to define your SD experience. I got to know you outside of this sub-forum, there's so much more to enjoy outside of the dreary political spectrum, & I mean MMA especially.

I hope you'll reconsider brother. I don't use FB btw.
This forum has gone to shit with recent mods. It's like the powers that be chose the biggest retards on this forum to become moderators of this subforum. But that's not even close to being the main reason for the exit.

To be honest, the past month has been great.

don't dissolve your account altogether man. just take a break. I do so literally every year now & again.

I appreciate it but it has to happen. You can PM me if you want to know why. But I'm gone soon.

Peerblock is useless these days, just a heads up. They post their lists, so they're super easy to circumvent.

If you guys want a VPN, look up seedboxing. I have one on Whatbox for linux distros and it's perfect. I hear you can also use them for less than savory measures, but I can neither confirm nor deny that.

As far as the "internet condom", NoScript, HTTPS Everywhere, and a *cough*advertisement circumventer*cough* are standard. Use those three in tandem, and the only thing you really have to worry about is your ISP snooping on you assuming you don't blow OpSec.

well now we know who the snowflakes are, bye rip, see ya in the bathroom as usual friday nite ;)

yeah, Peer Block isn't good as it used to be, but I quit torrent downloading for quite some time now. I mainly used it for TV shows but now DDL options are plentiful.

Technology is my day job, I just keep it on the dl so as to not interfere with my shitposting.

The rep is a lot easier to maintain when people think they have the edge on you.

<{jackyeah}>

Now I can rotate you in with lecter and Rup for my tech questions. Good to know

Rip is good. This has been in discussion. He won't be the only one.

Take care, guys.

Don't pussy out on me now Marvin.

But hey, if you wanna cut loose all the relationships admiration you've worked to develop here then I guess this is goodbye. Clearly the rest of us don't mean shit. :(

Best protest ever.

It's like if Dana got mad that a PPV didn't get enough buys and decided to punish fans by making the next 10 events free.

Sorry dude, I'm just saying goodbye. Rip just got out before me.

If you guys want to get in touch with me, maybe you can message @Anung Un Rama and send him a message, if he's willing.

I'll keep this profile up for a few more days but I've already made preparations to delete this account. If you want to keep in touch, PM me your Facebook profile.

It was fun until the past few month or so.
I'm down to relay any non troll messages for sodapop.
