War Room OT Discussion v2

Holy jebus -- some people take this place way too seriously and personally. "Planning a mass disruption." "I consider this a victory" -- yesssh, unplug for a while, Gumps.

Anyways, I bet on Bisping when he was +120. I like how the line is moving.

And Garbrandt has been underrated for years now, he has always shown super high level skills since being in the UFC. Guess lower weight class fighters need to dethrone champions before they get the recognition heavier fighters get...or neck tattoos really do skew public perception in all career fields.

I don't see how Bisping isn't the favorite here.

TJ is still a really tough fight.

It is the neck tat. Dude is a great fighter, but I mean, neck tat.

Man, garbrandt is weird. He had some insanely violent fights before the UFC, and I remember questioning if he was going to take too much damage before he got signed to have a good career in the UFC.

I was pretty clearly wrong.

I am not involved. I don't report people (I only did it once about a year ago because it involved someone threatening my wife) and I have never complained to the mods or administration. Every time I have been yellow carded it has been fully deserved.

If i was a gambler i really think rose is locked in and tight for this fight and shes gonna armbar or choke something on JJ and early (1st 2nd rd)
im also rooting for TJ simply because i cannot stand cody and his "dude bro" mentality

I went to Vegas for 182 and stayed at the MGM. On the elevator on my way to the event, there was a guy who asked me if I was going to the show. I said yeah. Then he told me to "watch out for Cody Garbrandt." I told him I had a hundred bucks on him, but it was entirely based on the recommendation of someone I respected and I knew very little about him. He said that it was a good bet and that he was a beast who was going to make a big splash in the UFC. He had gone to high school with him and was following his career closely. So I kind of root for Cody because of that guy. Obviously everyone has people rooting for them and people who rooted for them when they were nobodies, but being able to put a face on one of them makes it a little different.

I was part of their PM group. There was more than just mods and threads being discussed. Some of the guys shared some personal things about themselves. I really like those posters. It is too bad they were banned. :(

Pwent was alright, the other two were pretty terrible posters.

Why? They were vulgar, dim, hateful, and completely lacking in any capacity for independent thought. And they had no sense of humor. I understand feeling for them because you know that all that is covering a lot of pain, but I can't see them inspiring any real affection.

I got to know them through the Private Messaging. Like everyone on here, there is more to them than the shit-posts you read from them on Sherdog. There are posters on here you may get along with on Sherdog, but you would dislike them if you met in person and vice-versa. I try not to judge people too much based on their Sherdog posting style.

Nope. I dont agree with all of @Madmick posts, but I don't have issues with the guy and do find some of his posts entertaining. As far as I can tell, he's never had any issues with my posts either. Only dubs I ever got were in Heavies

Peace.

Fair enough.

Do you really get to know them? Did Ehtheist come clean about the online roleplaying before getting sick of it all?

Ehtheist was not a part of the PM group. I rarely interacted with him or her. I was only referring to Pwent, Struggle and KinOmega who I like as posters. Did I really get to know them? No. They shared a few personal things about their lives, but it is extremely difficult to truly get to know anyone through an internet forum.

Fair enough.

It is also a personal posting style preference. I have always liked the heels in wrestling, the agitators on sports teams, greasy political pundits and the UFC trolls like Chael Sonnen. I just naturally gravitate towards the Sherdog agitators and trolls.

One of the first things that brought pwent to my attention was when he recommended "Harrison Bergeron" to @Kafir-kun, while in the process clearly revealing that he hadn't read it himself.

Makes sense. I'm actually with you on heels in wrestling, but those guys had no style. Just juvenile taunts and obvious lying to defend their "side."

Which PM group? Yes, there's a lot of roleplaying, trolling and just straight up, regular lying.
