I get the redskins and cleveland indians but they dont all seem created equal to me ....... Like for example what would be offensive about the blackhawks ? Should I be mad about the fightin irish ?

Can you explain for me why?

Would it be different if the presentation or language used was different? Like if they used Native words? Is it a matter of “owning” it? Like, it’s fine on a reservation school but not for a billion dollar operation owned by and made up of non-native people? That all would make sense to me.

I know here we have teams named Menehune or Na Ali’i or how UH has the mascot Vili the Warrior. But it’s considered politically correct or at least not incorrect for this guy to be on the sidelines:
