War Room Lounge v99: "I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to too."

Should the WR Lounge come with polls again?

I won't disagree with that, which is why I'm trying to argue definable talents, and not necessarily "artistry". And while that can get muddy as well when you get up there with the elites, I don't think it's controversial to say that Bob Dylan is merely an average musician across the board in terms of ability.

There is similarly no arguing that Leonard Cohen was a shit singer lol. I saw a meme about modern art a while back that I think describes what guys like these do: ''when 'I could have done that' meets 'yeah, but you didn't'"

David Icke was right

It just can't be toleraayted

So apparently Trump's first act as dictator is to unban the use of anti-personnel landmines.

Nice.

Any Trump supporters want to address his obvious drug abuse?

I think I understand the point that you are trying to make here, but I disagree. Ted Nugent is a better guitar player, but their musical production speaks volumes as to who the better musician is.

It’s sort of like comparing the best artist in some art school, who is very technically sound and well researched, to an artist who broke boundaries and created some of the most famous pieces of all time but is less technical, and calling the art school kid the better painter.

I know a girl who went to MICA who can paint “better” than Pollock, but who’s the better painter? The one who does everything “right” or the one who created impactful art?

I think the entire point is the impact. Without the impact, the world is paint by numbers.
but can dylan shit his pants on demand? checkmate bob...

I am begining to really ask myself how we can have a republican democracy when one person happens to be rich and because of that he gets to make the rules on how people get elected.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/democrats-announce-debate-rules-likely-194634387.html

Republicans - are - the - ones - opposing - campaign - finance - laws - and - attacking - democracy.

Seriously, dude, you go the Federalist Society dinners! It's specifically that organization that is funneling in all the conservative judges who keep attacking campaign finance transparency laws and expenditure limits. And they're the ones systematically undermining voting rights and deregulating constitutional limits on election administration.

It's like me going to weekly Klan meetings and then lamenting about how people can't just set aside racial animus.

It is pure hyperbole to claim that Glover is the best artist alive. He is a decent entertainer at best. He still hasn't topped his best work playing a retard in Community. Community was brilliant.

(a) Community might be the most creative and innovative show I've ever seen. The writing and direction was absurdly good for being on television. Remedial Chaos Theory, Pillows & Blankets (the Civil War documentary one), the Dungeons and Dragons episode, the Law & Order spoof. Just fucking brilliant stuff by Harmon.

(b) Troy was not retarded. Wtf. He was in college.

(c) Have you not seen Atlanta? You have to watch the episode "Teddy Perkins." It deservedly won several Emmy awards. Overall, I don't think it's controversial to say Glover is the most well-rounded popular artist right now, from his comedic acting, to his dramatic acting, to his writing, to his music.

(d) Welcome back.

When you think about it, film music is kind of the current age "classical music". Classical music used to accompany opera pieces, which were basically movies before we had cameras.
