Agreed on classification of the narcotics. I hate to go all bro-science Rogan here but his favorite drug, DMT is in the same rank as like fucking meth and heroin. LSD is as well when LSD was initially developed to be a migraine medication... that WORKS as that but has side effects that literally everyone experiences.

I have a friend that works for the warrant squad in Seattle and another that after the military became a DEA door kicker and routinely when I ask how their jobs are going:
"Why the fuck am I kicking in the door of a rundown essentially row house when the motherfucker we SHOULD be arresting owns a 4 million dollar penthouse?"

Same reason the IRS disproportionately audits the poor.

Less chance of them bucking up and beating the case. Can't get a high speed lawyer if you can't afford it.

Still upset I got audited making about 20k on various internships/co-ops. Had to track down all my rent agreements and get notarized note from parents that I lived with them. Also send them copy of offer letters from each job because apparently having a W2 from each wasn't enough proof that I worked there when I said I did?

Didn't get my peasly $800 return until August

So Barrack Obama said along the lines of "At a certain point you have enough" as he has his $14 million dollar home.

Was Kobe not trying to be rich? Was he trying to help the poor as he amassed whatever his net worth was

Bernie has John Cusack speak for him, his alleged net worth is $50 mill, is he trying to help the poor with his millions...

Steve Jobs was beloved, was he trying to help the poor

I'm talking about the Koch brothers boring millions into right-wing propaganda denying climate change, undermining accumulated human knowledge on science and economics, and pushing voodoo economic policy that would perpetually enrich them, impoverish others, and plunge the world economy into constant flux. And backing corrupt puppet politicians that would do their bidding. I was not saying all rich people are evil.

uh oh, I'm getting 99.998

what is happening

No, he was right. Your math is the one a bit incorrect. A simple ratio like yours would mean at 100,000 hours you would have assuredly died 1.44 times.

Treating an hour of flight time as a singular unit of risk, you have .00144% chance of dying. Or 99.99856 chance of living through that hour in a chopper. Take that to the thousandth power and its 98.57% chance you'll live.

This way, if you do spend 100,000 hours in a helicopter, you only have a 23.7% chance of living through all of it, but that's not 0.
Oh, yes of course you're correct. I do have a tendency to get things like that exactly backwards. There was another time I was discussing the relationships among energy, wavelength, and frequency of photons and again got it backwards. Apologies to @Prokofievian. My bad.

Okay but Kobe cheated on his wife 20 years ago, that's something Trump supporters just will not stand for. Adultery.

Man, I hope the IRS doesn't try to fuck me this year on taxes. Three W-2s. My gross pay from my old full time job to my gross pay from my current one jumped a fair bit.

Of course, there are fuddy duddy Trump supporter-types commenting on the stuff with shit like "people die every day, he was just a basketball player that cheated on his wife durrrr," but any death of a famous person always brings fuck heads out of the woodwork.
Don't make fun of their principles that they stand by 100% of the time.

I think one of the things I've learned from the rise of Trumpism is that religious conservatives were neverreally appalled by people cheating on their spouses so much as they were appalled by those people being sorry for cheating on their spouses.

Choke rape is I guess technically cheating if you're married.

this reminds me of the time I lost my right testicle in a surfing accident. years later I was selected for a unique & new medical procedure at the time, to which I had a neuticle installed. that corrected the imbalance I felt & made me whole again. my count went back up & on track & I've been good ever since, though, aside from the yearly checkups where they rig all these wires & pads to my 'nads. past two years have been a lot better because all I have to do now is wear a "cup" that does a complete live real time scan of my 'nads & can check up on my neuticle a lot faster & easier. in a couple of years I'm going to have to get a new one because my count is projected to drop, something about tricking my body more efficiently to operate as if I've never lost a testicle at all. life man, but that's the way she goes.

damn you assholes, no one took the bait.

Yeah I was in fugitive warrants most of my career, and US Marshals Task Force for much of that. It’s not like I haven’t made drug arrests on that end... but I find it kind of a distasteful experience.

The three things I’d never specialize in are traffic, narcotics or undercover. I’d find other work.

Not to contradict @HockeyBjj, but rather talking about this one operation, yes, my mistake yet again but in a different way. That was the answer I intended to give.

I had two W2s also, granted i just switched from NAF to GS in the same employer

But ya, i paid back almost 3gs in student loan interest last year, that 'helped' me more than i realized

Is that something that's confirmed?
Well you know, it's all he said/she said and who's to know what really happens behind closed doors with athletes and why was she in his hotel room anyway that night. But he confirmed that choking a bitch is the thing that he likes to do.

When I ask them why they keep doing it if they hate it so much:
"For my rank the pay is great"

I figure this year I might go to HR Block to do mine simply to try and get as many rebates as I can. Like see if there's a moving for job sorta exemption someplace or something.

At any rate, helicopters are way safer than cars (way less safe than commercial planes, though).

I did notice that TurboTax free version didn't allow me to use the Schedule 1 form to claim the Student Loan Interest
i had to do the 'pay' option to do it, but whatever

Traffic typically has the best pay for the rank. Especially if you’re a motorcycle cop. Lots of OT, lots of court time because people always try to fight the tickets or OUIs, lots of training. I just have absolutely no interest in it. At all.

Is that something that's confirmed?

The Prosecutor dropped the case because the girl ended up refusing to testify.

On that note a big detail was that she had rape kit done and it came back with more than one guys DNA so she had sex with somebody either right before or right after.

So she might have refused to testify because of fear of being slut shamed on that. Or he didn't do it.

Kobe also issued an apology where he said he thought it was consensual but after seeing her testimony it was obvious she didn't think it was consensual

"Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter."

They also settled a lawsuit out of court later on.

There were no allegations leveled against Kobe before or after.

So I think only Kobe and the girl really know what happened
