But others clearly try, generally with people that are not that level of pretentiousness, so it makes it outrely odd IMO

If we are being honest and leaving aside the politics capping deductions on the interest and mortgage on expensive homes is entirely justified. That move was clearly and attack on blue states though. Unless someone can plausibly explain why a bill solely intended to cut taxes targeted blue states specifically?

There are companies, particularly start ups, that have an extremely casual culture and if you don’t curse or are offended by cursing you stand out and could be perceived as unable to fit in.

Those are the exceptions and not the rule, but I happen to work at a company like that. I think it’s also applicable to a lot of blue collar jobs like cops, fireman, construction workers etc..
