But were they "way rushed," though? By industry standards, they certainly weren't. The show's schedule was in fact slowed down to accommodate GRRM. From December 2015 to July 2018, about 30 months, they only produced 13 episodes.

Rushed in terms of having to hit certain spots in a compressed period that wasn't long enough to develop to them in a manner consistent with the rest of the show. Not in terms of a time crunch.

You don't have to strain. "True Blood" had far worse writing, and was plain shit all around.

While GOT certainly fell off, it's biggest crime was not being nearly as good as some of best stuff ever put to screen, like it was in it's first four seasons. The final seasons are totally watchable though, and leagues ahead of the real horrible shit out there from bad shows, and other shows that fell off, like Dexter for instance.
Shows that fell apart:

Dexter
The Shield
Sons of Anarchy
GoT
Final season of The Wire after the main writing staff all left

The Shield

{<huh}

Had some ups and downs in general, but I think overall it's one of the stronger series' out there from beginning to end.

Sons of Anarchy

Oh' sweet Jesus, yes. That first season is legit. After that, bottom of the barrel garbage.

Can't disagree with the others, but I'd also add that "The Sopranos" final season was pretty weak overall as well. Pointless first half, rushed second half. I did like the very divisive ending though.

For real. Other than supposed long healthcare lines, how is any of this bad. High speed rails to Alaska and Hawaii (!!), putting the economy in the hands and benefit of the workers through unions, rebuilding infrastructure, having an entire department devoted to taxing the rich

I couldn't even tell those were supposed to be people outside the healthcare building. I thought they were grass or something. Ben Garrison would have put a "LONG LINES" label on the crowd, as well as an AOC name tag.

Haven't seen the first three, but the final season of The Wire is a masterpiece compared to Game of Thrones' final seasons.

Personally, I don't think season 5 is much worse than the first two seasons. It's just a drop-off from the GOAT seasons 3 and 4.

It's certainly put together well. It's really just that serial killer plot line that really jumped the shark for a show as grounded as The Wire.

The Shield and SoA show that Kurt Sutter is GREAT at creating characters, an interesting universe, and placing said character in universe but once it comes to a coherent story he SUCKS.

Like, SoA as an example a Real IRA gun runner kidnaps the main character's like 6 month old child... and SOMEHOW manages to get back to Ireland. Then the Motorcycle Club, while on release conditions, manages to ALSO get to Ireland trying to chase down the kid... WHAT THE FUCK.

McNulty's fake serial killer is the biggest issue with Season 5. Though it was fun watching him fucking twist that reporter around with it.

I take issue with Sutter having a pretty unique set up for the first couple seasons then falling back on the trope he then ALSO used in Sons of having Whitaker's character hold dirt over Lem to try and turn him rat the way that the US Attorney and San Quaqin Sheriff hold Juice's heritage over his head.

There's PARTS of the later seasons of Sons that is good but it crashed and burned BAD there for a bit. Mayans MC, the spinoff, so far has held up as being really good. Might have something to do with Sutter stepping away and now being fired by FX from the show.

Three people today are trying to tell me that in the video of Trump mocking the disabled reporter's disability, Trump isn't actually mocking the reporter's disability. One called me dishonest for believing my eyes over Trump's explanation.

In fairness, there's not much to ruin. You also have to wonder what a shit show it is over at Disney for them to just drop out so quickly.

Ain't nobody getting creative control over there. Disney just wants soulless bots to do whatever they tell them to. Hand that shit over to McG, and be done with it.

I feel it's like a "We dropped out" when in reality, they were going to get fired and this was their chance to save face

But who knows

Heretic absolutely melting down over this:

@LogicalInsanity, are you really far gone enough that you're going to say that Trump wasn't mocking that guy's disability in the video?

Sirloin steaks are superior to Rib eye steaks.

Change my mind.
I believe one of my earlier names on this site was Sir Loin. That’s all I have to say about that, but I think both cuts have their place.

Because he didn't mock the reporter's disability. It's a general gesture he's made many times before, to other non-disabled people to express that he thinks they're dumb.

Oh' wait, is that what you think? You just believe the reporter is mentally retarded, because he has a hand deformity? That explains it. You just think all disabled people are mentally retarded, and Trump was mocking him for that. Not the case, Jackie. The reporter merely has a physical deformity.

I use sirloin for a fair amount of stuff but I personally am a bigger fan of ribeye. Dat carmalized/rendered fat.

He did, though. There's a video of it.

Yeah, you got me. I just secretly think that a guy whose hand is like the reporter's and like Trump's imitation of the reporter are all mentally retarded. I didn't think anyone would know, but you saw through it. You're a clever boy. *I'm* the one who mocked the disabled reporter! Weird coincidence that any time someone notices Trump doing something bad, it's really the person who noticed it that did it.

But who knows

I don't know why they would fire them. Regardless of what anyone thinks of how GOT ended, they're still highly regarded in Hollywood.

If I'm placing bets, I'd say they stepped down on their own accord, because of the corporate environment at Disney and they didn't want to be slaves to them.

He did, though. There's a video of it.

So you do believe the reporter is a spastic drooling retard then, and not just a guy with a deformity?

I must inform you that you're mistaken, and not every disabled person is mentally retarded. Kind of offensive for you to just blanket every disabled person as mentally retarded.
