You're equivocating here. In another thread, just now, I pointed out that eliminating poverty in America wouldn't require eliminating large fortunes (as someone else had said) since the total gap between all households in poverty and the poverty line is a small portion of our national income. You wouldn't frame that comment as me "taking up the task of defending the right," though you could by this definition. You have a tendency to do that--make grand, biased pronouncements and then back up to "I just meant something much milder" when called on it. It's not cricket.

My claim was that you have taken up the task of defending "the left", whatever that term means, and indeed it's easy to find examples of you defending "the left" against attacks. Another claim I have made and continue to make is that "the left" and the "the right" are meaningless terms due to highly variable definitions among different people. A third claim: the primary use of such terms is to define an in-group and an out-group for tribalist reasons.

This is incoherent now. You said that it was my task to defend the left (also your examples don't fit the description). If you don't think "the left" exists (which is stupid, BTW), then you can't credibly accuse me of defending it. And the terms are very meaningful and useful. Your third claim is ridiculous.
