Football season is the only time I see ads for basic cable sitcoms/ shows and it always amazes me how cheesy and awful they look. Why are the bigger networks worse at making high quality content? I get they have to appeal to a wider audience but it’s still bad once considering that. The actors almost purposely do exaggerated acting like it’s part of the role.

They dont call it television programming for no reason, my friend ;)

Just got it. That was a good one.

Just for the record, are you attractive physically? Not that it matters, but I need to know how seriously to take you as a male.
Really weird question bro. Everything ok with you?

Good post, but I can't really add to it or challenge what you say about Democrats on deficits.

Sideways to that a bit, it must be confusing and embarrassing to be a socially liberal Republican who is against deficits for reasons they can't clearly articulate in terms of policy priorities (this is almost a working definition of "Libertarian," especially the ones who see themselves as highly independent thinkers who happen to be fiercely anti-Democrat).
Meh, when push comes to shove they all wiggle their tails and swear allegiance to whoever the GOP props up like the good lap dogs they are.

American self-branded "libertarians" are a joke of a movement.

He is really quite something, that is all I can say.

This was on Facebook

Yeah. I definitely believe he, like every politician, has people who write posts for him. In Trump's case, the writers try to make it sound like it came from Trump.

But like if you or I were to write a fake Trump tweet or FB post, the spelling and grammar would still probably end up better than the authentic version (even with a deliberate minor slip up in there)

Please someone find one time Trump used the word "unbeknownst" himself. This message came from Trump, but not this wording for sure.
But how do you know it came from Trump, though, really?

Wow, that whole piece is utterly terrible and dishonest. So many false claims casually dropped in it that it would take a piece several times as long to address them all.

The part I quoted struck me as particularly egregious. How the fuck could Obama have "bought" his economic results with a "FED-driven" policy? It's not like Obama decided what the FED would do. Further, what is "free money"? And how were Obama's policies a ponzi scheme?

It's not "bro" I'm a "sis". And I'm just fucking with you.

And yes I'm definitely OK, pretty strong in fact.
That's so rare around here I can't help but ask whether you are a previously banned poster, and if so who, just for the sake of curiosity. Doesn't seem like it, which is even more curious, but I will stop here lest I get too personal, and ask instead whether you saw my earlier reply to you about idiomatic acceptance.

Why does it seem like theres so many washingtonians on sherdog? Are we just more likely to be internet dweebs or something

At this point, you just got to blame the shit-tier moderation on this forum.

It really is a shame the war room got left with the mods with the least integrity.

I know they are predominantly republican, and thats ok; but I question their motivation in turning a blind eye to alot of this...

Freedom of speech refers to the government, not your home, not a business, not sherdog. We have a rule that you can't post naked chicks here. Ok I understand that; but I can post "The jews are running a conspiracy to replace the white race" and get likes

Hearing the same things over and over again, generation after generation is how someone like a judge in Texas can start out his day with a cup of bias.

A couple of posters here keep saying "TDS" , "Orangeman bad" , "This is it" every-time a thread critical of Trump is made. It is spamming, derailing and deflection. But Mods only delete the comments if they notice it , instead of handing out cards. It is pretty easy and takes no effort to just spam those aforementioned memes.

Jesus @Ruprecht , why are these people calling you “shit-tier” and a “Republican?” After all you’ve done for them, seems really ungrateful.

I'm betting its that ethiest dork that thinks he's clever at trolling

I remember when trolling was an art form. These youths today don't know, *unintelligible rambling*.

Star Trek is now 53 years old. I just realized I have been a fan for more than half the journey by now.

It got me thinking how much changed culturally between 1966 and 1993, compared to 1993 and today. I'd say it is not even close, but what do you think?

That's basically my whole lifetime. I don't think the difference was all that stark until online communications moved from message boards and IM clients to social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, in what, the late 90's/early 2000's, give or take. Before that, technology propelled other changes, but I don't think we saw a wholesale cultural shift until the introduction of the first true smartphones and their accompanying app ecosystems. But yeah, after that, the changes have been sweeping and dramatic, in my view.

By the way, leaving aside the current English understanding of the term zeitgeist, how would you otherwise translate it from German into English, whether literally or colloquially?
