I've seen a few long videos on van conversions and done some reading, and I think 20k is a good spot to be. Cost 50/50 split between the auto and the upgrades (top of the line power and kitchen are a must imo). If you can get a van in really good mechanical shape for less than $10k, all the better. I'm no mechanic so I would need something very dependable.

Sorry, post got cut off somehow.
Here in the Netherlands, especially the more rural area where I live, you can get a mechanically perfect used box van for around 4k. Full conversion, including full kitchen (3 burner hob, combi oven, fridge/ freezer), bathroom (combo toilet and shower with sink, running hot water), full solar, 2 skylights, all the furnishings and everything, would be 8k, max. IF you can do it yourself that is.
Before moving to this part of the country from The Hague, I actually considered doing the van life for a bit, so did all the calculations. Monthly expenses including food, waste disposal, all the insurance stuff, and gas, aiming for doing about 1000km a month, would have run me somewhere around 850 euros. Still not sure if I made the right choice, even though I absolutely love living here. The romance of life on the road, visiting new places everyday, totally away from people, yeah, still seems very appealing.
Might do a scaled down version for weekends/ vacations, something like a Toyota Hiace. Weird thing is, the same specs as the box van would cost just about the same amount total.

I know they have a high intermarriage rate, probably hard to avoid if you are such a small portion of the total population, but I was just wondering if Catholics were uniquely open to the idea of marrying Jews for some reason. Proximity seems to be a good explanation for its frequency.

My neighbour, in the Hague, is building himself a sweet skiing van at the moment. It's coming along pretty slowly but the work he's doing is pretty high quality. Should be ready for next ski season. A little on the small side, though.

That's why I was looking at a box van, quite a bit of space, especially the ones with the cargo area reaching over the drivers cabin, you can get a nice king sized bed up there, and then you have loads of space for storage and an actual kitchen and living room. Plus, the ones with the movable loading platforms make for a nice little terrace/ front garden and you can make a sliding door behind it as your living room window. ;) Yeah, I like to plan ahead. LOL

I hate to be the pointy elbow guy but while they have nice bodies none are that great in the face department. They all got amazing teeth though, gotta give em props on that. Even Hepburn had some yellowing there due to smoking.
