But, in my defense, I've always been interested in politics and my attention to American politics overshadowed my interest in Canadian politics when I was living in the states. Until recently I was looking into attaining American citizenship.

Oh yeah, MJ, but the comparison is not comparable.

Prince is actually more my style, but MJ from the very late 70s to the early 80s was an absolute musical phenom. Thriller is a masterpiece of pop art, and rather sadly haunted MJ as he always wanted to outdo himself, and as far as danceable Funk/Pop/Rock from the 80s goes, Thriller is unoutdoable.

Not a fan of pop music generally, so MJ and Prince are just nostalgia for me. MJ was everywhere, so more memories there. An '80s icon.
There was a period in high school when "Cream" was everywhere though.

I disagree, the talent came first and how he used it came second (free will is a beeyatch). I also think he spent his life doing something he loved and, as a result, brought happiness to millions of people. God should be pleased, I mean, of what better purpose would the ability to play music and dance even serve? Unless you think such gifts are always Evil, it's hard to conclude they were used for anything other than to serve God's will in this case (theoretically).

The people can decide which of our completely legitimate and reasonable theories sounds better. I will add for consideration that, of the two of us, only one thinks Utah is the promised land and Mississippi is Egypt :cool:
