Not an expert, so all of this is dangerous half-knowledge.

On Android, you just go to your camera / camera settings / geo tags (or similar) and disable.

For any given picture, you can also view the file details amd they should contain location if available.

Afaik, PNG files do not contain geolocation.

Edit: or you just follow this guide for Android

https://www.howtogeek.com/303410/how-to-prevent-android-from-geotagging-photos-with-your-location/
Thanks. I'll check it out.

Wait, are people just discovering exif data?

<{Joewithit}>
Speaking for myself, no, but it reminded me I haven't really double checked any of my photos to see what meta data they may contain or that may still be contained in them when I share them online. Mostly because I'm not sure how and I'm too busy right now to look into it thoroughly.

I'm not sure what this conversation is all about but I have location tagging for pictures turned off on my phone.

Upload to imgur, all data is stripped on upload

Is this phone thing how theOracleofMMA was busted? Never really got how Chauncey (sloppypie, I believe) figured it out.

That's what I normally use and that's what I thought, but it occurred to me I had no idea how to verify if that is true or not for myself, say after I've posted a pic here, for example.
