I never tried Trolli brand sour gummy worms before today. Very Berry. These are pretty damn good.

What is everyone doing for turkey day?

I'm keeping it simple, just regular sides w/the turkey. For appetizers it's a salami and prosciutto platter, and mixed berries. Chips & dip, etc. Pumpkin & cherry pies.
Going rogue this year and making a prime rib roast with gnocchi and sage butter, and flash fried squash and zucchini ribbons. Gonna try a reverse sear on the roast (fingers crossed). I grabbed a lox dip for the appetizer. Staying with traditional pumpkin pie for dessert, though.

Sounds great. I think a reverse sear on a prime rib will work just fine.

What is a reverse sear?
Roast it low and slow first, then let it rest under foil while you crank the oven up to 500 and finish it off with a 20 minute sear. Supposedly it evenly cooks the meat and makes a great crust. It has worked well for me before with a chateaubriand.

That could be slightly tricky heh. How big a roast are we talking?

Only 4.25 lbs. It is just me and my wife and the two tiny's. I will definitely have to keep an eye on it.

I thought you meant a quick broil or a big pan to finish. I applaud your stones.

I used a pan the one other time I did this. I may chicken out tomorrow and hit broil and turn it a few times. Still, my google machine tells me the 500 degree thing works...

I'm curious if anybody here has joined Sherdog.com writers Ant Walker and Jason Burgos for the live video chat series titled "The Trenches."

Is it reminiscent of trench activity? Did you feel as if you were really joining them? Of the two hosts, who is trenchier?

As rich as this guy is from rap the fact he is still a criminal makes it worse. That means he enjoys being a criminal.

Tekashi 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez) is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 32 years in prison, according to the prosecuting U.S. attorney at the rapper’s arraignment on Monday night. The rapper was arrested on Sunday night and faces federal charges including racketeering allegations stemming from Hernandez’s involvement with the Nine Trey Bloods, as well as a previously unreported armed robbery. Hernandez faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

“[Hernandez] is a member of a violent sect of the Bloods,” said Assistant US Attorney Michael Longyear at the arraignment. “This defendant participated in multiple acts of violence.”
Fuck him.

“MOSCOW (The Borowitz Report)—The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, is “absolutely furious” at the Saudi royal family for using his puppet without first obtaining his permission, an aide to Putin confirmed on Wednesday.

According to the aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the Russian President has been “seething with anger” in recent days as he has observed the Saudis using his favorite puppet as if it were their own.

“At one point, Putin was watching the news and saw his puppet behaving in the kind of scraping, subservient manner toward the Saudis that he had previously reserved for him,” the aide said. “He pulled the TV out of the wall and hurled it across the room.”

According to diplomatic sources, the Saudis have reached out to Russia in the hopes of striking some sort of puppet-sharing agreement, but the enraged Russian President has refused to entertain such overtures.

“He’s my tiny puppet, and only I can make him dance,” Putin reportedly snapped.”

Good piece by Tucker. BTW I go to TJ on a regularly basis. This really is how people feel down there. Also I have a friend who is in a Mexican born and raised. She comes up most weekends to hang out. She has a good job so it is easy for her to legally come here. It is middle class Mexicans that have the most problems with this.

I just wanted to drop this off before I head off for my long weekend of decadent festivities.

I'm sure you all are aware of the wildfires in California and the town of Paradise that has been basically incinerated. As I mentioned a few days ago, I lived in Paradise for four years. I had a wife and family and great friends and I remember many great times. My marriage didn't work out and I moved back to my home-state of North Carolina. Time and distance resulted in me losing touch with the people and the life I knew. At this time I have not been able to make contact with anyone who at one point meant the world to me.

It might be the biggest cliché in the world and I don't give a shit but right now I am so grateful for the life I have and what I could be going through now if the universe had a different plan for me. Tomorrow I will be surrounded by people who care about me, a feast in front of us, with a drink in one hand and a joint in the other probably, and I feel like the luckiest man alive.

On this day I send nothing but cheers and good wishes to all of you steaming group of herd animals, even you War Roomers who I have traded insults with, and those whose opinions I find so unbelievably stupid that it makes my head hurt. Sometimes I think that we obsess over our trivial differences so much that we forget how much we have in common. This life is precious, amazing, and sadly ultimately fleeting.

Peace and good fortune to you all, and never forget, tomorrow is promised to no one.

I made this recipe for my work friends and ended up looking like a genius. It really does work. Perfect 59 degree pink.
