Dude, this is totally unsolicited, and I get that, and it isn't the Mayberry, so it's totally FWIW and you do what makes you happy including enjoying the ever-living fuck out of being single, but I want to let you know life is long and as long as you don't give up or close yourself off from looking you will eventually find the partner (not to assume either way) that is perfect for you--which doesn't mean the person is perfect, of course. I didn't get married until I was in my forties and the last 8 years make up for all the ones before so I would die happy even if it were to end tomorrow somehow.

I barely know you but I'm tempted to think I get you a little bit and I think it can't hurt to remind you you're very likely not giving yourself enough credit most of the time. As much as anything it's the short days, the long nights, upcoming holidays, and the drugs talking, so gimme shit if I'm overstepping.

I don't know if you're taking the piss or not, and I enjoin you to clarify, but it's this rather absolute commitment to what is correct and incorrect, or right and wrong, overdeveloped as I like to call it, that leads to a tendency towards perfectionism and lot of negativity directed towards oneself. I have learned of late that it's possible to improve your outlook and reduce the effect of such a compulsion.

Please forgive my presumption, I really don't wish to be preachy, only to make a positive contribution, whether to you or the community in general. But I said before the worst way to die is young, but that's usually not going to happen to someone who never gives up. And this year has been bumming me out far too much to not share positive advice when the inspiration strikes.

It was better known for it's radio telescope though, Radar astronomy is only for the solar system.
They are shifting away from single dish radio telescopes anyway. We're supposed to have SKA online (along with South Africa) by 2027.

I thought that too except for not giving in too much to the stupid shit part. I think if I had met the woman who is now my wife back when I was 25 or even 30, I would not have been right for her and we would not have stayed together. I needed work. But I eventually got to where I have someone who will stick with me through all my mental shit. Just sayin'. Life is long.

Tell that to Mr. Obvious Hyperbole is Still a Violation, @Lead who gave me a yellow card in a situation where the context was very specifically tongue in cheek.

I'm just happy that I've been pretty aware of my own shit.

My last situation ended up breaking my heart but there was a touch of relief in knowing it wasn't my fault this time.
