Yea, it was amazing how glorified McCain became in his final years because of his feud with Trump and his votes. Romney also gets better props than previously killing people under Bain. Bush is seen in a better light too but I think that’s just because enough time has gone by and people seem to look better at prior times. Clinton had a similar bump at one time.

Yeah, I was also thinking back to ex-Military figures with prominent positions in the anti-war movements, Confessions of an Economic Hitman, the number of Bush and Reagan strategists etc that have featured locally on left wing shows for their criticisms of Trump etc etc.

The cables were deteriorating faster than normal. It was actively in use until one of the cables broke in August.

Hmm, google tells me that the auxiliary cables (one of which was the August failure) were installed in the 1990s when they refitted it and increased the weight of the platform. The main cables were the originals from 1963.
Looks like they screwed up.
Oh well, China's had the largest one (FAST) since 2016 and supposedly they are opening it up for international use next year.
The loss still reduces coverage.
Locally SKA isn't supposed to be online until 2027.

I'm not a bottom but I would be the GOAT based on an obsessive level of self-cleanliness. Bless the twinks, man. They're as clean as the most hygienic and freshly scented woman (been with enough of those too) but they got peeners and lean, hard bodies. The latter is the reason for twinks but not so much t-girls, I like Statue of David type builds. Michelangelo knew the deal.

FAST doesn't have the same capabilities as Arecibo. Aside from the wavelength difference, the equipment housed in the box hanging over the dish contained instrumentation for radar astronomy.

With Arecibo's destruction, the sole radar astronomy complex on the planet is the Goldstone Solar System Radar in California.
