Not really worth a thread but Sam Harris dropped out of the IDW recently and cited his unhappiness with how some have handled the Trump fraud situation. It’s pretty clear Rubin is one of the key people doing that. There was an election night clip up here where he banked completely on a Trump win.



That Scott Adams tweet is just awful. He got some attention for predicting 2016 but I had no idea he was that far in on 2020.

@Yehudim is far too intelligent to be sabretruth. The scariest homophobic posters are 'subtle', not the mouthbreather types that would get banned for an overt expression of hatred. I don't mean scary in an individual sense, but in terms of ideas and theoretical implementation. Like @Denter for example, that dude is terrifying. I kind of used to think the same of @TheGreatA but that was probably way off after some recent convos.

Usual reason given is real life commitments and Sherdog dragging on their time, so I guess it just helps with a lack of self control?

I've never followed Rubin, but I've certainly gotten the impression that his position has shifted towards standard American right-wing pundit and his credibility has nosedived. Presumably just as a matter of the audience he's been catering to.

Thankfully, I can count on one hand how many times things ever actually got dirty - and I won't disclose how that works out in terms of percentages - but it could also be down to relative selectiveness and not messing with dudes who don't know the deal.

He use to just constantly talk about how the left wouldn’t have a conversation with the other side but his show would usually be interviews where the only conversation he would have is how the left won’t do that and wouldn’t discuss any real topics. It was weird. That was years ago though. From watching the election coverage and the fact he’s been picked up by the Blaze (Glenn Becks Network) it looks like he just went full on with Trump and now election fraud. That group really has all dropped off at this point. Peterson had rehab for the past few years, Rubin had this, Harris kinda dropped off imo cause he demands a paid subscription, Joe Rogan has shifted on the group he’s brought in (in the video, it seems like he’s stiffed Dave as far back as 2018). I do like Eric Weinsteins show but I think he’s generally branched out too for his own stuff.

I don’t see how people can really quit Sherdog these days with the proliferation of smart phones

In traffic, during break, when I can’t sleep, if I wake up too early, it’s always the right time to Sherdog.

Only really can you be deterred if you have a real commitment like children, IMO.

To be fair a similar thing seems to exist with those that shift to the left (or even selective convergences like the "never Trump" republicans), but usually with politicians and business figures rather than pundits and commentators.

The results on a new survey based on Masculinity that was published by Attitude Magazine were so majorly against femininity that it shocked the staff. The survey found that gay men with feminine qualities were considered unappealing by almost three quarters of respondents.

More specifically, the results found that 71% of the 5,000 respondents said they were turned off by potential partners with typically feminine attributes. The survey also asked, ‘Have you ever thought that effeminate gay men give the gay community a bad image or reputation?" The results for that question ended up as 41% in the Yes column.
