Average or whatever, I have no idea; shitty selfish people are shitty selfish people, no matter the mode of transportation. But there's only one kind of shitty people controlling large heavy machinery moving at (relatively) high speeds and that's motor vehicle drivers.
Absolutely. So maybe if one is not protected by a steel cage perhaps one ought to exercise a touch of caution whilst interacting with said machinery.

There was a coroner's audit in Toronto a few years back and it was determined that something absurd like 97% of collisions involving motor vehicles and cyclist were the fault of the cyclist. Spend a few days driving in a major urban center and you will see why.

What? No. I'm saying the exact opposite - it seems like you're trying to look for a beef that isn't there.

I did not imply that and in no way did I say that it was the primary reason.

I said this exact same thing a few posts back. So no, I wouldn't argue it. Because I already acknowledged it.
Alrighty, I guess you didn't see my edit. Chalk it up to a misunderstanding. Still early enough to clear the air and still have a good time--gonna eat then smoke and have a beer and shoot pool. Hope you have a nice evening as well.

Just a reminder government healthcare is communism and America will become 80s Russia overnight if implemented

Or so I've been told

Military dudes hating socialism because they're too dumb to know how they get paid

Fair enough. I'm sure the statistics are quite different between here and there.

Just a reminder than Universal Healthcare would cost roughly 0.6% of the federal budget.

Healthcare for the entire country fully covered would cost 0.6% of the budget? Sounds like an, optimistic projection.

Happens. FWIW at no point during this conversation was I having a bad time. You said yourself that was a rant you had been dying to get out; I didn't take it as being directed at me until your "beef" post at which point I identified it was a misfire.

Man I'd love to have a beer tonight. If I'm able to stay off these muscle relaxers today I just might have one.

Universal healthcare would cost around 33 billion per year, as per multiple economic studies done on the matter.

The federal budget 4.72 trillion.

If like .02 trillion of that could come my way to buy myself a house and pay off debt that'd be fucking sweet.

Take it out of McConnell's fucking retirement fund, God knows he won't be needing it.

$33 billion seems awfully low for a nation of fatties.

People much smarter than me have come to that number.

Even if it were somehow 100 billion (it's not), that's 2% of the federal budget. It's a nibble.

It was $400 billion just in California though.

33 Billy? So every diabetic and cancer and child stuff or whatever are all good in the entire country, on 33 billion, for 330 million Americans? $100 per person covers it bro? I dunno man, I dunno.

Listening to a podcast about the history of the Portland Police Union. Holy crap. You can draw a straight line connecting them from 100 years ago to today. They literally gave handselected KKK members badges to beat up antifacists and unionists in the 20’s. They drove a train into a picketline of longshoreman. The protesters threw rocks at them, so they started blasting indescriminately into the crowd.
Yeeeep. The union battles of the PNW were insane.

That isn't a rarity though. The police across the US were prone to KKK infiltration and the police murdering and assassinating union leaders was not an uncommon thing.

Look at Portland PD and their association with groups like Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys. We don't allow that shit down here. Like I said last night, we outed a Proud Boy cop and NOPD immediately fired him

Interesting. That's less than Ontario's annual health care budget.

I have to apologize. I went back to source what I said, and the 33 billion number is what tax-payers would be spared under a specific plan, but the annual cost. I must have gotten the numbers mixed up.
