@Falsedawn @My Spot @Trotsky

For some reason, I can never find a definitive answer on this. Was Joey Styles "shoot" legit or kayfabe? Back then it was hard to tell and the fact that WWE has it on their YouTube channel confuses me if it was legit.

I don't know who Joey Styles is.

Unless the question is about WCW/WWF late 1998 through early 2000, I don't know anything about wrestling.

What's funny is the misuse and overuse of the word Nazi is actually a bigger problem than these so called nazis lol. I don't think I've seen a word lose more value in 5 years than the word nazi. The more normalized it becomes, the less anybody takes it seriously. "You're a nazi" would have been just about the most condemning thing growing up as a kid. I actually went to school with a legit nazi, I posted about it here how he got jumped. Now a days, I think about 1/4 people would be called a nazi it seems. You could make the argument the left wing types are causing more harm than actual nazis which is so hilariously twisted I don't even know where to begin.

True, it's a lazy term and is being overused.

I think it's because it's so much easier to type than "white supremacist" or "neofacist" or "racist asshole".

I'm not sure that there will EVER be something more ironic than the NPC memes from the right.

I mean for the US. And I guess other developed economies as well. I would never trust a person who hates animals.

On that note, I suspect Hitler had more decency in him than Trump, McConnell, and a lot of Republicans, but I think I've said as much before.

Classic.

It's very possible, however language is supposed to have meaning and the word 'nazi' is losing weight.

Disagree. The word nazi is just as powerful as ever and the meaning has just evolved.

It's no longer narrowly defined as just supporters of the 3rd Reich, but a more blanket term for all far right bigots, misogynists, xenophobes, homophobes, etc.

It's also less corny than calling them an alt-righter. It's basically the same thing though.

Part of the problem is that motherfuckers don't read. The economics and social policies of Hitler's Germany or Mussolini's Italy aren't sexy, it's the Holocaust and cult of personality that we love. Easily graspable chunks. I have a working theory surrounding text messages and how that translated to social media, but it's admittedly uncharitable to a large part of the population.

See this is my point, how the hell is a homophobe a nazi?

A misogynist is now a nazi?

lol, this is making my point.

We are all just talking apes on a floating rock in space.

and this is entirely my point.

it is being used too often and too loosely in an effort to discredit/silence certain opinions.

it's much easier to shut down a conversation, and brand the opposing party a "nazi" rather than challenging him/her on their ideas.

I would have to agree with @Sketch here.

We need to be accurate with stuff like that.

A misogynist is a misogynist and a nazi is a nazi. Of course a person can be both and more, but being a piece of shit homophobe and misogynistic jerk does not make you a nazi.
