Reservoir Dogs was quite good and I like Inglourious Basterds as well if only for the high tier character acting.

I really enjoyed Natural Born Killers, Dusk Till Dawn and Pulp Fiction, but I didn't like Reservoir Dogs or Killing Zoe (I know he didn't write it, but his influence was massive). Not sure whether that's more because of Tarantino's influence or Avary's.
I'm pretty disinterested in cultural references, but I really just don't enjoy watching indulgent sadism.

Yes it’s fair game, but it’s also dishonorable if your game plan Training goes from take downs and gnp to leg kicks. But it’s also hard to judge.

I knew and liked the main cast of Hereditary (Toni Collette, Alex Wolff and Gabrielle Byrne) but I wasn't familiar with the cast Midsommar and none of them really stood out.

Also the premise of a Swedish cult is a bit cartoonist to my American centris self.

It's a creepy concept to me since I've actually participated in midsummer celebrations. Luckily there weren't any human sacrifices.

I liked tge movie and the concept, there just weren't any moments that made me jump. Probably because the whole thing was so foreign to me.

The movie does start out with a hell of gut punch though

Regarding Midsommar, I didn't like it very much at all. It's beautifully shot and doubles down on a lot of Aster's elements from Hereditary but I had issues with it that are hard to discuss with spoiling anything. Most people loved it, so you should give it a shot.

I thought the psychedelic scenes were incredibly well done, but otherwise wasn’t too fussed anout it
