Yeah, Carpenter didn't really give many fucks in his later years. I remember Rob Zombie telling a story about meeting him to kind of get his seal of approval for the Halloween remake, and his response was something like "Yeah, cool, whatever..."

His later flicks were also quite abysmal. I think he ran out of fucks to give around 1998.
