Man who allegedly used online dates for free meals faces 10 felonies

Paul Guadalupe Gonzales, who's earned the nickname "Dine-and-Dash Dater," is accused of "taking financial advantage of women he met mostly through dating apps and websites" between May 2016 and April 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Monday. The 45-year-old allegedly went to dinner with the women, ordered food and drinks and then left without paying.

I'm convinced this is either @HomerThompson or the guy from the Mayberry who yelled at the fast food employee who didn't let him put soda in the free water cup they gave him

A few moons ago I remember this waitress at my local who outright said to me that when she's hard up for cash she goes on a lot of first dates to save money on food.

She send me some pics of her giant tits once, but I was taken at the time. I kind of don't know if I made the right decision, but it could have been her just trying to sucker me in to a first date.

Felonies? Wow, he must have ordered the lobster.

Also, fuck that guy in the Mayberry thread. What an asshole.

Am I the only one that feels like instead of felonies he should get an award?

Couldn't agree more. Swedish state controlled media is a cancer to honest reporting and I wouldn't wish it on anyone else.

Didn't want to derail the thread. But I actually read or saw something recently (maybe it was @Prokofievian in this thread? Feel like it almost had to be on this board) praising the overall programming of nationalized tv channels in one of the Scandinavian countries. Now, that doesn't necessarily include news reporting, but I found it interesting nonetheless. I'm not familiar with it tbh.

The State Controlled media justify their existence with being politically neutral and without bias, which they fail completely to live up to.

But even if they were as objective as news reporting can be, it is morally wrong to tax citizens for a service that many don't want or need. It's hardly comparable to healthcare.

Setting aside healthcare, wouldn't you agree that "many don't want or need" public transportation or homeless shelter, or many other public services? And, given that dry news and educational programming is not very profitable, do you not appreciate them being provided without need for corporate motive?

Anyways, I have no frame of reference on Swedish public tv, but I really appreciate PBS here in the states. Especially Frontline, which puts out some of the best (and shockingly unbiased) documentaries I've ever seen. To me, PBS and the US Postal Service are two of the greatest gems in my country.

Btw, I remember talking to you about Iran/Iranians before. If you're interested in the country, Frontline made an amazing documentary on Iran's rivalry with Saudi Arabia earlier this year. It's super long, but very good.

As for PBS, I have watched a couple of their documentaries and enjoyed them immensely (after I managed to figure out how to use a proxy server since I couldn't watch them from Sweden otherwise). I will have to check that documentary out because Iran is a very interesting country but also a frontline for major current geopolitical conflicts, thanksf for the tip!

State controlled media in Sweden has also done some very good documentaries and produced decent investigative journalism. With that said, news reporting is only a small portion of what they are serving, the most air time goes to movies, celebrity shows and so on. That is a far cry from what they should focus on since they receive tax payers money, whether citizens like it or not as well as create an unfair market advantage compared to private media.

I also find it troublesome when state controlled media plays up their objectivity, while at the same time being heavily influenced by political decisions and guidelines. I would very weary of both sides of the political spectrum using it for their own good.

But at the end of the day, I want the government to focus on the heart of welfare; (security, a functioning justice system, healthcare, schools, monitoring private entities) and not invite celebs to act a fool on TV. There are limited resources and transferring one billion dollar (their annual budget) from public media to healthcare could help many in need.

I have praised Yle on this board before. Specifically, their ''in clear finnish'' (selkosuomeksi) series is an awesome effort to help FSL learners. They generally do good work in their reporting as well, but public broadcasters are always a favourite target of the right. For as long as I can remember the CBC has been attacked by conservatives, and that's only intensified now with #TrudeauDerangementSyndrome.

I'm calling out @Zod Like for ban evasion. This guy needs help. He gets banned over and over and over and he keeps coming back. It's a bit sad.

What have I said thus far that deserves a ban ? Believing in nationalism is not evil or wrong.

What content have I posted thus far that deserves a ban ?

I heard this song the other day and I thought of you @salamander

How's the break going?

Nice! Another song to add to the playlist.

The psychic sinus's are clean and I'm on new vistas but the side effect from abstinence is that sherdog doesn't provide the same lurid dopamine kick anymore. I canb't shake the feeling of pretentiousness....I hope to quitting this habit very soon.

Hope you're well tho!

What exactly are people being carded for? There are always so many people with yellow cards, and they tend to be aggressive or abrasive posters, but I would like to know specifically what earns yellows. I figured Rip is basically a provisional account, since he got scolded, quit, made alternates, then came back. But what about all these other guys? The rules are so lenient here.
I've only had 2 accounts. There's been a lot of false things said.

Seems like an odd thing to be super strict about, considering what else goes on here.

There are different(sometimes unwritten) rules for different forums, and mods are all over the spectrum when it comes to enforcement. The WR is pretty lenient on the whole, unless you go full OT troll mode.

It also depends on reports as well. A lot of the shit in here goes unnoticed because most folks don't care enough to report it, and mods don't see it.

Best edited Punisher fan vid on YouTube with how his punches on Rawlins match up with the music at the end.
