@Sycho Sid I also think subconsciously they believe they will be rewarded for their loyalty towards the 1 percent, which is of course an absolute illusion.
The greatest trick conservatives in America ever pulled was convincing the poor that they are not poor, just temporarily not rich.@Sycho Sid I also think subconsciously they believe they will be rewarded for their loyalty towards the 1 percent, which is of course an absolute illusion.
You should get a ficus plant and pose with that.Time to stop pretending I'm normal on dating sites. My bio is going to be amazing, going to upload some great pictures posing with my household items.
It's the beaten woman syndrome. I don't mean this in a demeaning way towards women either, but there's a certain pathology people develop where it's easier on the mind to believe the elite have our best interest at heart, and are capable people that will bring us order in a chaotic world, than to accept that they're actually greedy evil cokeheads.
It's funny how conservative's distrust of the government shifts depending on what the narrative is. Remember, cops were going to put you all in FEMA camps but also cops are actually heroes even though they beat up protesters. My beliefs are more along the lines of “if you are not a net-positive tax contributor, you shouldn’t be allowed to vote”.
One of the reasons why democracy is probably doomed to fail, is that many people just vote for the guy that promises free shit.
People that pay more in tax, arguably should have more of a say in how that tax is actually used.
Women shouldn't be allowed to vote. When society collapses and the dust settles, if we somehow pull ourselves from the rubble of society and rebuild civilisation, this will be the lesson we have learned.
They just want the easy answer. They want the guy (and it has to be a guy) to come in, tell them he can fix all their problems, reassure them that their problems are not their fault, and wrap them in a nice blanket authoritarianism.Well, we've seen the rise of the cults of populist "strongmen" with autocratic tendencies across the world.
So it's clear people have lost faith in process and institutions and just want someone that's going to do the things they want done regardlesss. Or at least say they are going to do them.
blockbuster got busted. I cancelled netflix a few years ago and started using hulu and was great til hulu lost all of their contracts with the office and stuff. Still great for B99. Rebought Netflix last month and they definantly stepped their game up. Since im flush with money ima just keep both but netflix wins.Just looked it up, crazy that Blockbuster could have bought Netflix for $50 million and turned it down. Netflix is now worth $125 billion.
2 Fast 2 Feminist probably.
La La Land 2 sounds fucked up tbh.

when you look at all those coups in Africa, the pattern seems to be there's a democracy for a while, then somebody gets elected in that gets accused of corruption (it's always corruption). Then a populist right wing authoritarian military figure comes in and deposes the leader under the grounds of corruption. That leader and his followers are executed, the new military leader suspends the constitution, rules for about 10 years and then another person comes and deposes him, rinse and repeat.Well, we've seen the rise of the cults of populist "strongmen" with autocratic tendencies across the world.

What did they do with your old hip?
Didn't mean to downplay the populist angle at all. I just never figured out how Trump managed to portray himself as not an elite.Sure, but you're downplaying the populist angle. Which is to specifically lay the blame at the feet of the "elite", the system and the institutions. This is common to both the left and right varieties, and simple "answers" to complex problems are always a part of that.
It's not only right-wing populism that's been gaining traction, although it's certainly the most likely to spawn the "strong man" figures as we've seen with Bolsanaro, Trump, Maduro, Modi, Duterte, Orban, Netanyahu, Erdogan, Putin etc.
I liked the crab cake talk more

W did the same thing , I don't get it either although the mark is the same in both cases.Didn't mean to downplay the populist angle at all. I just never figured out how Trump managed to portray himself as not an elite.
I honestly think he just heard a term, added progressive to it, and thought it sounded good.
