Who’s that posting?

He was always one of my favorites. A good topic of analysis in re that era would be on the perceived racial identity of The Rock. Because a guy who looked more conspicuously black or Samoan could never have gained his level of widespread popularity. But he more or less passed as white, at least as a cultural symbol, after his time in that pan African stable.

Thats a ridiculous assumption. Rock gained notoriety because of his charismatic delivery, humor and ability to work a live crowd. You could say he benefited from Ron Simmons completely lack of charisma as the farooq character and being able to play his foil - and that Wright, Connor and Henry lacked personality with their characters. But it had very, very little to do with the Rock being passable for white.

Wright was way over as The Godfather. I went to the Georgia Dome Raws when the WWF finally started running Atlanta again and he got the biggest pop behind Austin and Rock.

Wright as the godfather was gold -- and that was a character of who he actually was (just turned up to 10) but him as Kama Mustafa was just a bland background piece

My lunches consist of baby spinach, mozzarella, some protein (grilled chicken, flank steak, or like grilled ham) and Newman’s Own Oil/Vinegar dressing.

Dinner varies but is usually 50% some kind of vegetable with day a small steak and a little rice

What did you weigh yesterday morning, and how many calories did you eat today? How do you know how many calories you ate?

Him, Scott, possibly Rubio all do. Florida potentially is going to be a cluster fuck for that 2024 primary.

Rubio really seemed to have a good chance at the Repub nomination and then Trump took him out with a nickname

For all the shit from Trump, his primary and presidential campaigns truly were impressive

I don’t think he can replay that magic, as it was expert smoke and mirrors and now the stage props have been revealed

Don’t have a scale and admittedly haven’t been counting the calories.

Ugh, I’ve been watching my diet really good for about 2.5 months now..... but I just want to have a damn cheat meal of like ramen and gyoza. Gah
If one cheat meal will help you stick with the diet longer term then I say go for it. But you know yourself best: if it’s gonna lead to just falling off the wagon then resist.

I think he was at peak optimism after SC when Jeb dropped out and he was standing there with endorsements from Haley and Scott. I don’t think even with Cruz dropping out earlier he had a chance. Seemed like most of the voting bloc had decided on Trump and wasn’t budging.

I had a thread about him and Scott a few months ago and how they seem to be positioning themselves for 2024. DeSantis was on somewhat shaky ground with the administration up until this. I think he probably would’ve played it differently if he got the chance again.

I really think a lot of Republicans are positioning themselves for 2024. 2020 is basically a lost cause at this point.

But GOP voters are so unpredictable it's hard to predict what they'll want in 4 years. After Dubya's disastrous administration, most expected them to embrace a smart, square dude. While they chose McCain, Sarah Palin inexplicably became popular.

By 2016, most expected them to go for a smart moderate, but Donald fucking Trump wins it. In 2024 it could just as easily be Kasich, DeSantis, or Ted Nugent.

Seriously, get a scale. Not a fridge for your room.

Scales suck, I hate them. But weighing (and documenting) has a general effect.

Plus, if you do lose weight (and your approach definitely could already have paid off), you will know.

This is me since the birth of our second kid. Definitely had an impact until complacency set in (and then the Rona).

Make sure when you text somebody that you're waiting in the parking lot for them, that you send it to the right person.

I think Rubio was in trouble before that though.

At one point the GOP was all about Rubio and Bobby Jindal. Jindal had no charisma whatsoever.

And from what I remember Jeb was hesitant candidate. If rubio was polling well in GOP polls I don't think Jeb would have ran.

Scott Walker was another guy the GOP was high on at the time.
