One issue that's almost never brought up in even the most progressive circles is that the capitalist system NEEDS a lower class. It's a system based on winners and losers so the losers can't just cease to exist.

So unless you're some sort of radical that is proposing getting rid of classes entirely, you're never going to achieve racial equality. Why? Because the current lower class is made up mostly of blacks and Latinos and there is no way in hell ANYONE is going to call for a system where this lower class becomes made up of more whites so that the ethnics can move up.

Even in a dream society where Bernie has his way, the lower class will still made up of blacks and Latinos. They won't suffer nearly as much, obviously, but they'll still be the ones at the bottom.

By the way, I know I am way behind on this discussion, but I feel the need to point out that you are completely wrong while I am not too high to make sense.

Let's say for just a second we can have that dream society. Your issue is that you aren't describing the society accurately. In my ideal society we resolve the problem by not letting the wealthy make the rules on how or who gets wealthy and who gets punished how for various crimes.

E.g. who do you suppose made the rules that let off the GFC people Scott free while someone caught with weed three times would get 10 years under the 3 strikes rule?
