War Room Lounge v146: Federal Goon used "Bludgeon"! But it's not that effective...

So trump has sent federales to Chicago and Albuquerque despite no request from state authorities.

I hadn't even heard of anything in Albuquerque

We really, really, really love fucking over the Kurds. Like it's an addiction.
Trump's handling of the Kurdish situation was heartbreaking for me. Everyone knew the US special forces were the only thing stopping Erdogan from slaughtering the people who had just beaten back ISIS. That's why they were shifted to Saudi Arabia. To allow Turkey to invade. Seeing YPG leaders after we betrayed them refuse to back down and wearily pick up their AKs was a source of both inspiration and great shame.

Let's not forget Turkey and ISIS were straight up homies during the battle for Kobane.

This will certainly be interesting. The Portland videos of the Federal pigs being pushed back were beautiful. Hopefully Chicago keeps that energy.

Chicago worries me a lot more than Portland

Turkey is far more important.

Ah yes, Chiraq. Part of me thinks they're waiting for a Federal pig to get killed so they can rally behind him as a martyr and make him the face of propaganda, the issue with that is, I don't think people are going to particularly care if it happens.

The Democrats will also point to it happening due to an acceleration of force and moderates will continue to move towards Biden seeing him as a voice of deescalation.

The major concern is the precedent being set for the future of Federal forces being allowed to operate against the wishes of the cities/states they're in.

Rand Paul came out against it, and I'm sure a lot of Republicans are concerned that if the DNC takes the House and Senate they can use this sort of behavior against them.

@HockeyBjj

I'm thinking by November he'll finally be like "I'm hearing we need more testing and PPE for healthcare workers."

It’s completely disheartening, but also if it finally starts getting the conservative talk radio followers to actually do something I’ll take it

My boss today went on a rant about how Dr. Fauci created Covid 15 years ago and sold it to the Chinese and I kinda snapped a little and actually talked back (my employment hangs on the edge of a knife with the low volume of jobs) about how you fall for everything if it’s something you want to be true you’ll believe anything someone says on the radio or YouTube.

Turkey is far more important.
Diplomatically yes. I understand the reasoning behind the betrayal, but I still think it was unnecessary. There was no pressing concern to move the troops from Rojava to Saudi Arabia outside of a gift to Erdogan. If you wanted to ease tensions between the US and Turkey the F-35 issue would have been a better bargaining tool.

The movie 4 brothers I thought was pretty good (albeit it hit all the notes of vigilante loving teenager) and that’s line “This is Detroit, in case ya’ll forgot” could be a taste of what Chicago has vs the Portland hippies.

I mean we shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Never should have invaded Iraq I agree and I'm sure you think the troops in Saudi Arabia should be back in the US as well.

But a small group of special forces did absolute wonders assisting the Kurds against ISIS as well as maintaining a fragile treaty.

The idea that Trump pulled the small group of advisers from Rojava to stop US physical interference in the Middle East was one of his dumbest fucking lies. He straight up sent them to another place in the Middle East.

I saw much more support for the betrayal of the Kurds than I see support for the removal of bases in Okinawa, which cost far more, are unwanted by the locals, and contain far more troops.

The negotiations were also a joke. Trump made up some bullshit about how Turkey would show restraint and it hasn't happened. They're using the Covid epidemic to accelerate the slaughter and oppression.

Hopefully one day Syria and Iraq calm down enough that Peshmerga and the YPG can continue operations against Turkish police and military inside Turkey, but all of that could easily be avoided with a NATO approved state of Rojava.

Shit it would even solve a lot of Turkish issues, the oppressed Kurdish minority inside of Turkish borders would leave.

Ever think about joining the YPG?

It would have to take serious escalation by the feds. I've never gotten the impression that it's remotely as active here as it is there.
Probably right.

I'm in a pretty bad headspace today, so things seem worse than they are.
