War Room Lounge v146: Federal Goon used "Bludgeon"! But it's not that effective...

Nope, he's been a thorough disaster on appointments especially:

Education(DeVos)
Health and Human Services(Azar)
Justice(Barr)
Commerce(Ross)
Transportation(McConnel's wife, works in shipping industry)
State(Pompeo)
Housing(Carson)
DHS(Wolf)

I think Jack meant specifically the Federal Reserve Appointments when he said Fed.

I really hope that his campaign's internal logic isn't that a show of force and "law and order" will force a confrontation where he gets to display the force and promote the "law and order."

But that's exactly what this is looking like to me, another escalation. The president should not be trying to escalate things.

It's kid of crazy.

Hey if you elect Joe Biden, the stuff that's going on now will keep going on......

WHAT?!?!?!

He doesn't seem to be able to wrap his mind around the fact that Nixon wasn't the incumbent in 1968, and he is the incumbent now.

Portland has been a preferred fascist target at least since HW was VP. Very strange level of hatred for that place.
I don't know much about it but I think it stands out because even for a city it seems fairly liberal and yet Oregon's rural forests are home to white nationalist skin head types. So the state has some hyper polarization even by 2020 standards.

Couldn't disagree more, fighting tyranny is absolutely a legitimate reason to own a gun. Consider the case of Breonna Taylor who was wrongfully killed in a no knock raid. Her boyfriend got into a shoot out with the police as a result, if he wasn't armed he could very well have been killed himself. That's not the only case of a citizen defending themselves in a no knock raid and probably not the last. Or consider the open carry protests when compared to the protests that don't, notice which tend to find themselves on the receiving end of some rubber bullets and tear gas. I don't think that's an accident.

I really find it odd that leftists scoff at the idea of defending oneself from government tyranny as if its some wild hypothetical scenario and not something that has played out over and over again in American history. The problem is when people say "government tyranny" they usually imagine some totalitarian government sending tank columns through the streets of America. But more often than not government tyranny in America has been at the local or state level. I mean if Jim Crow isn't government tyranny then I don't know what is. I'm not saying guns are the best form of resistence to that kind of tyranny, it wasn't an armed insurgency that ended Jim Crow after all. But on an individual level having a gun can mean the difference between being tried by 12 or buried by 6.
I'm not saying firearms can't be used to combat tyranny, only that the people making the argument typically do not do so in good faith or with consistency to the rest of their purported values.

Remember the Bundy loons who occupied fed property? That whole region- OR, E WA, Idaho, and N NV is a hotbed for these literal radical Christian terrorists. They have Christian military training camps for children, exactly the ones you'd expect to see in an ISIS stronghold.

Those are disasters, but I was referring to Fed appointments specifically.

Jerome Powell
Richard Clarida
Randal Quarles
Michelle Bowman

Overall, pretty good. Not the kind of appointments I was expecting (Shelton is, though). Powell as chairman has done well, IMO.

Okay in that case I agree. Treasury is another one. Mnuchin is a scumbag and should be in prison for his illegal foreclosures from a decade ago, but he's consistently intervened in the WH negotiations on stimulus and UI. I think he even took over negotiations with Pelosi back in March.

I was surprised to hear, from all places, the Fed making arguments relating to the Covid bills that not enough is being done for main street. It was like a soft spoken plea from the Fed for their services to be directed to help normal folks. From I understand they lack the infrastructure to do so in a lot of ways

I think it's obvious that that's exactly what they doing , he wants the shit to hit the fan .

It used to be that a way the dog scenario meant starting a conflict overseas , they have eliminated the overseas part of that equation it appears.

In a fucked up way it's kind of brilliant

Mnuchin is a scumbag but he also knows Wall street needs Demand to profit.

Yea, Oregon’s set up is weird. You have a big anti vaccine crowd too but the funny thing is it’s both those groups (hippies and skinheads) uniting on it for slightly different reasons.

That's fair. Most of the guys who cite government tyranny as a reason for the 2nd Amendment are thinking of Obama FEMA camps and not Jim Crow.

Right wingers: "We need the 2nd to defend against government tyranny!"

Black people: "We agree completely"

Right wingers: "Wait!"

You shouldn't leave Alex Acosta off that list , yes he stepped down but he highlights how awful Trump appointees can be , his connection to the Epstein scandal isn't mentioned enough.

If Floyd spent his morning doing something else besides being a piece of shit criminal, there would be hundreds of black men without bullet holes in them.

That's like discussions about Norway and socialism.

Rightists: Actually, Norway has a very free market and isn't socialist.

Leftists: OK, let's do what they do.

Rightists: No, that's socialism!

Well both are far right groups, quite similar.
