There's a rumour that a story will run in tomorrow's Washington post detailing that the Washington NFL team ( name to be determined) has been paying off referees , if this true it'll be the biggest scandal in league history imo

Well that would actually mean the Franchise needs to be disbanded imo.

Somehow these scandals never have consequences in US sports? End the franchise.

Washington Nevermores

Paying off referees? With those results for the last 20 years? Either it wasnt effective or everyone is doing it.

@PolishHeadlock2 You been checking the Senate races? Dems getting a majority still seems steep. If they flip NC, CO, and ME, they're still at 49! If Bullock pulls ahead in Montana and McSally falls in AZ, that's 51.

After that, they need to win a substantial upset in one of GA, AL, or TX. And they have to fend off a close race in Michigan.

Pretty crazy since it's looking like they'll obliterate the popular vote again.

I haven't looked in a bit but the last time I did I thought Peter's was safe and McSally and Collins were done.

Everybody else I'm relying on the Biden express, low approval ratings for incumbents and that the challengers outside of MT and CO are unknowns.

Hey, I have a chess board just like the one in the foreground. Anyone on a mobile device want to try to zoom in and see who is winning?

That first chart is depressing. The rolling average was clearly going down, a couple of weeks would likely have sufficed to get things under control.

With masks, we have established a pretty common sense rule here which is valid for basically everywhere (employers tend to handle it the same way) :

1) limits on people per space
2) distance 1.5m or more (i.e. restaurants must place tables accordingly)
3) if you cannot guarantee that distance, wear a goddamn mask

In any case, people also need to understand that aerosol transmission is real and now also has been accepted as real by scientists and the WHO. If you are in a confined space with other people, open the fucking window. And wear a mask if you cannot distance sufficiently.
And don't make a big deal out of it. I read a quote today that I liked:

Dear Mask Refusers!

You feel "trapped" under your mask? Funny, that's what nudists say about clothes and still wear pants when shopping. Let's face it, it's rude to want to kill other people.
Please source this aerosol transmission data.

Speaking of- I've been going to a different YMCA since the reopening because my usual one is still closed down. Well, this new location plays a LOT of country music.

Holy shit, what awful, awful music. That twang they all inflect their voice with is retarded, that guitar-ish sound is retarded, and the lyrics are beyond retarded.

One song actually, literally, goes "He makes you ride in the backseat, when his boys call shotgun'..." then a bunch of bullshit about how this guy mistreats his girl but she deserves better. Then the kicker, the chorus:

"You belooooong in the front seat!!"

<JerryWWF>
My 2 cents:
I like any kind of music as long as it's good. But so much of Country music is so bad it's hard to not dismiss it all out of hand. But there is the odd good bit here and there.

Good news for Christians, if someone you love is suicidal and you're worried they might not get into Heaven just call the cops.Bingo Blamo problem solved.

This happened in Canada recently too, and it's probably even more egregious. Family calls the non-emergency number for help with their father--an immigrant surprise surprise--who is schizophrenic and has gone off his meds. They send paramedics and the police. Police shoot and kill the dad because he had a pocket knife. Fucking fuck some cops suck.

I sense a blue wave building momentum...

"Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, governors have generally received better marks for the way they’ve handled the crisis than President Trump has. However, new polling suggests that may be changing, especially for Republican governors in states where the number of coronavirus cases has spiked in recent weeks.

Gallup recently found that Americans in the 26 states governed by Republicans are souring on their leaders’ approach to the public health crisis, while sentiment remains steadily positive among residents of the 24 states governed by Democrats. In fact, over the past month, the share of respondents who agreed that their governor cared about the safety and health of their community fell by 8 points, from 61 percent to 53 percent, in states where a Republican is governor; opinion in Democratic-run states hovered around 65 percent, despite some movement week to week."

People want to have access to testing. People want to feel that they will be supported if they have to stay home due to health concerns.

People DON'T want to be rushed to "go back to normal" when virus numbers are spiking.

And it's looking like the GOP Senate is going to let the enhanced unemployment expire in the next 2 weeks.

Supposedly they were also pimping out their cheer leaders

Everyone feels this way until they realize it's not rocket science. It can be a bit complicated and like you said, intimidating at first, but when you know how to use it, a decent PC is a way better entertainment platform than any cable box or console combined.
I don't even think it's complicated. It's just that it's only easy once you know how. I'm sure he has all sorts of these relatively minor skills that other people don't have just because they've never been shown or didn't want to take any time to learn how. I'd probably be the same way with the cleaning of my dad's boots.

Thanks. I'll look it over before I comment further other than to say it really doesn't make sense (to my admittedly layman brain) unless it's very much harder to catch that way than the other or unless it's restricted to only some rare strain(s) of the virus, so I want to understand where they are coming from.

Edit: Whoa. The very first thing I read is it "cannot be ruled out". That is not at all the same thing as saying it is confirmed to exist in the wild. Not even fucking close. Anyway, carrying on. I'll read it before I say any more.

From what I've seen they're trying not to kill each other but are working together.
