Except I think many, if not most, people intuitively understand the "not real communism" line of truth: that advanced modern economies ceding the production of wealth to worker organizations toward diminishing and eliminating the explanatory power of private ownership (of firms or plots) on political power is fundamentally different than a collection of undeveloped agrarian countries being seized by political parties that then own and operate their economies, make workers subject to their will, and strip worker organizations of most or all of their democratic influence on society.

Cultural opinions also factor into those sort of judgments. I've been told that the French, for example, consider Edgar Allan Poe to be the greatest author who ever wrote in English, not Shakespeare. Not sure to what extend that is true, but I can imagine reading a good French translation of Poe versus a translation of Shakespeare and reaching that conclusion... which once again, raises the question of how much of the impression of "profundity" actually arises from an author's craftsmanship in-- and possibly the unconscious biases inherently embedded in-- his native language. I think with Shakespeare, like I said, it's almost impossible for a native speaker of English to have an objective opinion of him because he was and is so clearly the greatest stylist of English who has ever lived-- his profundity comes largely from his breaking open of every nuance of the language. And also, he was so clearly the master of the forms in which he wrote. Like, he gets a lot of credit for expressing psychological nuance in an incredible economy and richness of language. Which, of course, he should, but it makes it pretty much impossible for you to know when you are judging him on substance versus on craftsmanship.

I don't think you can meaningfully purport to separate Shakespeare's craft and his 'substance'. I also don't know what would constitute an 'objective' opinion of Shakespeare that doesn't consider his skill with language. Hoping to vivisect art to get at the point of the art is a mug's game. It is trivially true that you need a certain faculty with English to properly appreciate Shakespeare, but how Shakespeare expressed himself is part of the substance. I'm thinking a bit about what Eliot talks about in "Tradition and the Individual Talent" (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/articles/69400/tradition-and-the-individual-talent).

Also, Harold Bloom basically argued that Shakespeare 'invented' humanity as we now understand it in the English-speaking world, which is a pretty significant accomplishment, if you accept the thesis:

ABT is still pretty big here, but they'd trend more towards organized crime than just a street/prison gang.

Well, white American street gangs don't exist in the US anymore. White prison gangs and biker gangs aren't the same thing. Neither are the various types of organized crime organizations.

When they did exist in the late 1800s and early 1900s, it was mostly made up of groups that were also marginalized: Irish, Jews, Italians. They didn't face systemic racism to the extent that blacks and Latinos did, obviously, but the element of ethnic discrimination was also there.

Huh? They exist, even beyond the white supremacist or peckerwood groups. Like White Boy Blood sets, DMI, Popes and Royals. We’ve even had some Royals that came out here and set up some prostitution and drug operations in the last couple years.

If you include racist white street gangs the list can go on for pages.

Its true. We had a ska themed wedding and check this out. Our song was slapsticks earth angel which is on that very cd i loned her from the very first time we talked. I got punk ska magic dude. I come alive when i hear it and amazing things happen to me when its on.

And few years back when we hit 20 years as a couple we celebrated with another ska themed wedding cake and then took all our friends to a demolition derby and it was one of the greatest days of my life to date.

there used to be TMR (The Master Race) back when I was growing up. you'll hear about them every so often. my brother was the official neighborhood bully/troublemaker & a few of them were his friends, through graffiti though. they seemed to get along with other races. weird stuff.

I mean, $2200 could get you a pretty beefy box. You could easily get 1440p@60 or 1080p@144. Honestly you could probably get a 4k rig, but you'd have to put out for the monitor.

That's a high end box, not top of the line, but pretty damn close. Just add the case and extra hard drives (I'd go like 4tb) if you want and you should crush basically everything. 1440p@60 should be trivial, 1440P@144 MAYBE depending on the game.

If I were getting it for myself I would:
-Go 2080Ti instead of 2070 Super
-Intel instead of AMD (Probably the i9-10900k)
-Put in 32GB of RAM

Keep in mind though, i'm a tech whore with more disposable income than sense. I'm also a buy once, cry once kind of guy too. That would be a box that would put you in a prime spot to upgrade to 4k when you got the urge. Also would let you get into the Desktop VR space, if you were interested. Should have overhead for a pretty nice monitor too.

I guarantee none of the scholars in the business of publishing the thousands upon thousands of books on Marx and communism are having to run the tracks and jump the hurdles that I'm having to run and jump. Damn it, Ayn, why couldn't you have just smiled a little more, cracked a few more jokes? Why'd you have to make so many people hate you so much?

That's because the idea of a society where there are no classes, no one is your boss, and everyone in your community is taken care for is very appealing to a ton of people. So much so that vast, popular, social movements in every part of the world have taken hold with this end in mind.

The idea that society should be organized in a way that the individual owes nothing to his community and that, if he wishes, he can comfortably watch as others suffer and starve, is not very appealing. This is why there has never been a widespread, popular right-wing libertarian movement anywhere.

(Having said that, actual Marxist/very left academics are highly resisted still today)

Probably between 10-15% performance. The 2070 Super is basically a trimmed down 2080 kinda like how the Ti cards are trimmed down Titans. Here are some comparisons at different resolutions.

Incidentally, Milton, Hayek, and Mises never met a fascist they didn't like. Hayek devoted his 1960 ''The Constitution of Liberty'' to Salazar. Mises thought the Nazis were the preservers of high european culture. Milton and Chicago boys' association with Pinochet is well known, as is probably Hayek's support.

And those are softies compared to Rothbard. I can't recall him associating with dictators but his ideas are the most batshit insane and disgusting of all, imo.
