I met my wife in 9th grade. She sat by me in history class and I noticed she was wearing the nimrod Tshirt from the concert the night before and started givin her a hard time about being at that show when she shoulda been in the shelter seeing the skolars( mighta been less than jake or the suicide machines though im not 100 sure) . Well, white American street gangs don't exist in the US anymore. White prison gangs and biker gangs aren't the same thing. Neither are the various types of organized crime organizations.

When they did exist in the late 1800s and early 1900s, it was mostly made up of groups that were also marginalized: Irish, Jews, Italians. They didn't face systemic racism to the extent that blacks and Latinos did, obviously, but the element of ethnic discrimination was also there.

Real talk, though, this Objectivism book is no longer a sure thing, but it is a sure thing (*waits for this to bite me in the ass and jinx me*) that very shortly I'm going to write a small (30,000 words, basically a long essay) book on Inception and skepticism. I'll be sure to bring that up in the SMD once that's done

In all honesty, I'm not really "an" anything. I just write about what I find interesting and Objectivism is something that I find interesting. The most accurate "thing" to call me would probably be an ordinary language philosopher (in the Ludwig Wittgenstein-J.L. Austin-Stanley Cavell line) and to the extent that Rand's ideas and arguments jive with that I'm in. Like I said, I don't worship at the alter of Ayn Rand, I'm not running around screaming "Objectivism!" like some crazy cult leader looking to recruit drones for a Kool-Aid party. But I also don't start foaming at the mouth as soon as I hear "Ayn Rand" or "Objectivism" mentioned and start running around screaming "Fascism! Nazis!" She was just a person, she said some things that make sense and some things that don't, and I think that we should talk about her and about what she said seriously and intelligently rather than pretend that she didn't exist, re-write and cherry pick history (intellectual and otherwise), and set about talking only about x people and things in y way. Call me crazy but that starts to make me want to scream "Fascism!"

I mean, $2200 could get you a pretty beefy box. You could easily get 1440p@60 or 1080p@144. Honestly you could probably get a 4k rig, but you'd have to put out for the monitor.

That's a high end box, not top of the line, but pretty damn close. Just add the case and extra hard drives (I'd go like 4tb) if you want and you should crush basically everything. 1440p@60 should be trivial, 1440P@144 MAYBE depending on the game.

If I were getting it for myself I would:
-Go 2080Ti instead of 2070 Super
-Intel instead of AMD (Probably the i9-10900k)
-Put in 32GB of RAM

Keep in mind though, i'm a tech whore with more disposable income than sense. I'm also a buy once, cry once kind of guy too. That would be a box that would put you in a prime spot to upgrade to 4k when you got the urge. Also would let you get into the Desktop VR space, if you were interested. Should have overhead for a pretty nice monitor too.

But, yes, it was just posted in the St. Louis news and most of the responses were jabs at BLM, about how stereotypes exist for a reason, and how the real facts are that "gangs of blacks" are constantly attacking whites. No anecdote may be allowed to go unexploited, I'm afraid.
