One of the weirdest statements I see constantly here or anywhere else are when conservatives bemoan that "leftists want to take your guns" and that's just... not true?

Corporate politicians reacting to news cycles want to "take your guns" or restrict them. The further I dive into the left, the more I see the same ardent support for the 2nd amendment as "boogaloo boys".
what you think - I sold 'em all?

Well okay, I did sell most of them. But not all.

I live in a "no registration" state. Best anyone can do is see that I have thought about purchasing a gun insofar as having my background run at gun shops.

"Sorry officer, I thought about buying that .45 but decided against before the waiting period was up."

Why should they be? It's not like it's frowned upon. I've got a forever butt hurt stalker who's had at least 15 different accounts.

I beg to differ, their presentation was flawless. From their choreographed cult gatherings to their uniforms and insignia. and of course it was derivative; they based their entire identity on Ancient Norse, pagan, Germanic, and Roman culture and mythology. A real hodgepodge of fantasy bullshit.

I mean no kidding right, what is the revolutionary right (aka nazism and fascism) but an appeal to a reinvented national history complete with any mixture of symbols and made up stories that tell what ever extreme national ethos needs supporting.

Derivative by the very nature of the ideology which explains why they were so good at playing dress up.

Hamilton is on Disney+

I don’t get the hype at all.
Had to turn it off.

It's a Broadway musical. It's not meant to be seen on the screen. Ever watched any other big Broadway plays on the screen? They always land flat. It's a different format, and you really have to be there in person to appreciate all the choreography and whatnot. When you take that away and put it on the screen, it's like watching a rough pre-production dress rehearsal for a movie. It just doesn't click.

Straw purchase heaven, Jesus. I don't like that. I mean it's personally beneficial, but don't like it as policy.

DaLeftCross.

Whenever I get tagged by some new member talking shit, there's a 95% chance it's him. It's funny, because he used to try to hide his identity, but now he doesn't give a fuck, because, well, why should he?

We've disagreed over the years on it. I don't expect that to change now.

I like you anyway.
To hold that opinion, you also adopt the opinion that it's wrong for people to require that people murdering machines be accountable to people. That's not a position I could hold in good faith.

I'm not sure I understand your statement.

Could you perhaps be persuaded with a jelly donut?

The explicit purpose of a gun (aside from hunting/sport) is to act as a people murdering machine. When you have people murdering machines floating around, you can either hold them to account or not. I could never argue against the point which insists that people murdering machines should be held to account, so that we know which one belongs to which person. Even if I didn't want them held to account, I still would have to admit that I'm morally wrong for choosing that position.

For future reference, you should hyphenate the phrase. "People-murdering-machines" wouldn't have been confusing. In fact, using either "gun" or "firearm" would be more effective but I understand that you're trying to evoke your idea with raw emotion.

Guns (or "people-murdering-machines") are used far more often for target shooting and hunting than they are used to commit murder.

That's just a cold hard fact. The vast VAST majority of gun owners will never fire their weapon at another human being. Also a fact.

So, the issue comes down to the "potential" to kill, or in your argument, the specific design to be able to kill.

I don't know what to tell you in that regard. I'm not comfortable with the police or state or federal government tracking my personal purchases. Gun crimes have been declining for nearly 30 years, despite gun ownership skyrocketing. There is no correlation between ownership and violent crime that I have seen.

There’s one instance where the first paragraph holds true. Areas like Seattle and other super metro cities. You stick a .223 Remington bolt gun and an AR15 in front of people from areas like that and ask which they’d ban they’ll most likely pick the AR15 and spout some nonsense about it being more powerful

There's already an app that lets you do that; I just can't recall the name right now, though it will come to me eventually. They have, say x number of publications, and of course the more you pay the more publications you have access to, and you can create a feed from those publications filtered by topic. Does that sound like what you are looking for?

Yea, that sounds even better actually. If you remember it, please tell me. My iPhone tries to give me a news feed but I wish I could control it a bit more.

People are pretty ignorant about guns. I'm not expert myself.

But guns are like dogs: You'll always have a group of people who are only worried about the ones that "look scary".

Meanwhile, I'm not far off from being grandfather'd (literally) an AK.

I need an AK patterned rifle just so I can shoot at a gravel pit and yell gibberish-Russian and not be judged
