Fried mashed potatoes are the best.

When I was a kid, every morning after Thanksgiving, my mom would use the leftover mashed potatoes to fry for breakfast.

Bubble and Squeak (left over veg and mash potato fried with a egg) is the best

That is so disturbing it looks like something @Sketch would post, but at least he has the excuse of being drunk.

That’s because a certain poster here said he once had sex with a jelly donut.

Oh my bad. I have Palis on forever ignore because I find it funny and thought you were just rambling.

That said. Can we chill with the shitcorn eating imagery before breakfast? I was eat a breakfast sandwich with pancetta, spinach, mushrooms, and eggs on a biscuit when I read that moving post lol.
As an amateur culinary artist I humbly and sincerely apologize for the disruption. I really didn't know that you can't see ignored posters when they're quoted, that seems confusing, probably the only reason I don't do it. Hope you were able to enjoy your breakfast.

I'm never going to let Palis off the hook on this one though. I mean he wishes actual pain and suffering on @Fawlty Elizabeth after crying like a little girl over an insult and he deserves derision whenever he posts his macho bullshit. As far as I'm concerned he's a war room eunuch.

You know that Gordon Ramsey, and other real chefs have YouTube help videos right?
I'm aware. But which would be better, a class from Ramsey or a YouTube help video?

Just saying, more people should do culinary classes. usually retired head chefs open them. They're generally super cheap too. The knife skills training exercise I lined out for him is super solid though. I usually assigned new cooks who hasn't been to culinary school that same one if they hadn't been to culinary school before.

I've never heard that term before. My mashed potato recipe is one my proudest. I generally make a couple batches a week. Fried mashed potatoes in the morning or used for a gorgeous cottage pie.

Weren’t you just criticizing someone last night for ignoring you?

While YouTube is very helpful, a lot of home cooks struggle with technique and with certain dishes in particular it's important to have a master of that dish looking over your shoulder and guiding you to completion and then tasting the final product to critique. I used to have get togethers and teach friends how to make pizza, at one point I was one of the best pizzaiolos in the entire world, they still hit me up to thank me when they have dinner parties.

I have some soba noodles in the pantry. I'm going to need that recipe.

Wheres that? You fucks with boxty or fried mashed potatoes?
Of course, when it comes to soba, the key is the broth; well that and not overcooking the soba so they become chalky. I'll get the recipe from the missus, and for the kakiage while I'm at it. I think you'd really like it if you aren't familiar with it. Hers is basically shrimp and scallop and lots of onion and held together by a light tempura-like batter, but you can switch up the ingredients to taste, of course.

Its a British thing; basically fried leftover veg with at least 70% left over mash bound with an egg into pancakes.

I don't think you're lying. You would probably be great at it. It's one of the reasons a person should only commit crimes by themselves. IF you have to ask for help, it wasn't meant to be done. Only exception is if you consider who you're doing it with is like Family, like Blood.
I would let my friends get away with murder but I would totally snitch for money on some dumbass drug dealers.

For basic cutting skills for Greg YouTube is fine, I did tell him to do the cooking classes for recipes, and he just needs to sharpen his knives.

Nah not me that was @weed talking about the Mayberry fella. I think I only have Palis and that one dude that got banned on ignore. Can't remember what his name was before it was Obamaphonelady but that's when I put him on ignore.

Yeah that buckwheat can be tricky. My Bonita broth is pretty sexy but for sure snag all of it for me. Although my favorite noodle is really udon. Nice and thick with just the perfect mouthfeel.

Ah, that's exactly what I make. I'll top it with a fried egg, spinach, and some form of meat.

I'm too stoned to think of a good joke about the Brits and the potato famine and it upsets me.

Well for future reference it is called "Bubble and Squeak" from the motherland.

The potato famine; never before has there been such a rich and indeed topical vein of comedy to mine from.

Why snitch on them when you could hit a lick?

There's an old book called The Story of The Irish Race that I love that you should check out. The most extensive history of Eire I've found in novel form. The history of the 9 Years War is incredible.

Speaking of the Irish Famine Tim Pat Coogan is without a doubt my favorite Irish historian ever, his book The Famine Plot: England's Role in Ireland's Greatest Tragedy, is really really good. Also The IRA is great as well. Very extensive in both the Anglo-Irish War and the Irish Civil War as well as The Troubles. Not as much as Tom Barry as I would have liked, but Guerilla Days in Ireland was a great novel by the warrior himself.
